本来、性／セクシュアリティ（身体的性、性的指向、性自認、性表現など）や、生殖（子どもを持つか持たないか、持つならどのような方法でいつ持ち、どのような育児をするか）は、他人に脅かされず自らが自由に選択できるはずである。しかし、性や生殖の自己決定は性役割などの社会通念の影響を受けやすく、課題を抱える人が多い。
本授業では、多様な性（セクシュアリティ）の在り方がある中で、さまざまなセクシュアリティの人が元気で幸せに生き、生殖（妊娠・出産、育児）に関する自己のプランを実現するために必要な方法（アイディア）を提案することを目指す。この体験から、自身の持つ性と生殖に関するアンコンシャス・バイアスに気づくとともに、人がより良く生きるための解決策づくりの考え方や面白さを学ぶ。
Essentially, one should be able to freely choose aspects of their sexuality (physical sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression, etc.) and reproductive decisions (whether or not to have children, how and when to have them, and how to child-raising) without being threatened by others. However, personal decisions regarding sexuality and reproduction often are affected by social norms, such as gender roles, leading to numerous challenges.
This class aims to propose methods (ideas) for individuals with diverse sexualities to live happily and realize their plans for reproduction (pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare). Through this experience, students will become aware of unconscious biases related to their own sexuality and reproduction, and learn ways of thinking and what is interesting about materializing solutions that lead to a better life.
リプロダクティブヘルス・ライツを取り巻く課題は、社会情勢と密接にかかわり、時代とともに大きく変化する。科目では、リプロダクティブヘルス・ライツに関連するトピックスについて講義、演習を行う。トピックスの概要や社会的背景、倫理的問題を整理し、それら課題への看護の在り方を考察する。
Reproductive health/rights issues are closely linked to social conditions and change significantly over time. The course includes lectures and exercises on topics related to reproductive health/rights. The course provides an overview of the issues, their social context and ethical issues, and examines how nursing care should be applied to these issues.
流体科学は多様な物理現象の基盤であり、気候変動、環境汚染、水・食料の不足、公衆衛生など、人類社会の持続的発展やわが国が抱える課題を解決するために不可欠な学問である。本講義では、環境・エネルギー、ナノ・マイクロデバイス、健康・福祉・医療、宇宙航空に関わるイノベーションの創成と諸問題の解決を目指した、最先端の研究について紹介する。また、各分野における未解決の課題を提示し、その解決のための流体科学の役割や応用について議論を行う。
Fluid science is the foundation of various physical phenomena and is indispensable for the sustainable development of human society and for the solutions of our country’s issues, such as climate change, environmental pollution, shortages of water and food, public health, and so on. This lecture will introduce cutting-edge research to come up with innovative solutions related to the environment and energy, nano/micro devices, health, welfare and medical cares, and aerospace. Moreover, unresolved issues in each field will be presented, and the role and applications of fluid science for them will be discussed.
新しい医療機器の開発により未解決の医療課題が解決されることが期待される。しかし解決すべき課題とその要件を明確にせずに、技術ありきで医療課題の解決に取り組んでも社会実装に至らない例が少なくない。また医療者から提供されるニーズが狭い領域を対象にしている場合、その解決策を事業化するのは困難である。新規の医療機器が成立するための条件であるニーズとその範囲を明確にすることは、医療機器開発事業の成功確率を高めることになる。本授業ではグループワークを通して現行の医療の中で未解決の潜在的医療課題（ニーズ）を現場から探索抽出し、抽出されてきた課題が事業化に値するか経済的価値を考え、その上で解決方法を構想する一連のプロセスを体験する。
数名のグループに分かれ提供された医療関連シナリオから未解決ニーズを抽出し、それを解決するためのアイディアを仮想医療機器開発プロジェクトとしてまとめる。構想をそれぞれのグループでまとめプレゼンテーションを行うことをゴールとする。

【目的と概要】私たちが生活や生産活動を行うためには，自然界から利用可能なエネルギーを取り出す必要がある．一方，自然界は複雑で不確実であり，人間が制御することはできない．本講義では，地熱エネルギーを題材の中心としながら，自然界を技術開発の対象とすることの難しさや面白さを学び，持続的に自然界からエネルギーを取り出すための設計方法論を修習する．また，現状の自然エネルギー利用技術を理解し，自然と技術，社会のあるべき関係性を探究する．
【達成目標】以下の事項に関する理解の獲得を目標とする．
・限られたデータに基づいて、複雑系のモデル化や複雑系を評価する手法を使うことができる。
・天然物を設計の対象として見る目を養う。
・社会の中の技術、資源と向き合う技術について、多角的な視野を広げ、自分なりの考えを持つことができる。
・自然エネルギーに関する課題を抽出し、解決策を検討することができる。（仮説を形成できる。）

【Purpose】 We need to extract usable energy from the natural world in order to live and produce. On the other hand, the nature is complex and uncertain and cannot be controlled by human beings. In this lecture, we will learn the difficulty and interest of using the nature as a target of technological development, and learn design methodologies for sustainable energy extraction from the nature, focusing on geothermal energy as the main subject. The course also aims to understand the current technologies to utilize natural energy and to explore the ideal relationship between nature, technology, and society.
【Goal】
The course aims to provide students with an understanding of the following
- To be able to use methods for modeling complex systems and evaluating complex systems based on limited data.
- To develop an eye/sense to see natural products as objects of design.
- To be able to broaden one's perspective and develop one's own ideas about technology in society and technology facing natural resources.
- To be able to identify issues related to natural energy and to be able to consider solutions. (Be able to formulate hypotheses.)

このコースでは、太陽光発電などの再生可能エネルギーを使用して都市エネルギーシステムを脱炭素化する方法について学ぶ。授業では、数人の学生でグループを作り、データ収集、分析、グループディスカッション、プレゼンテーションを行い、ディスカッションやプレゼンテーションの方法も学ぶ。 後半では、履修メンバーの研究内容に合わせてグループわけし、グループごとに地球環境問題、エネルギー・資源枯渇などの環境課題とその解決策について課題を設定し、調査、討論、発表を通して各課題についての理解を深めるとともに、討論や発表の技法を学ぶ。講義は、隔週で行う。

Learning the basic knowledge about the utilization of medical information and health care to solve social issues related to medical care and welfare.
この授業は、仙台商工会議所青年部の協力を得て実施する。この授業では、留学生と国内学生が協働して、地元企業について学び、課題を発見し、その課題に関連する調査を実施し、解決策を提案するというプロジェクトワークを行う。留学生と国内学生それぞれの視点や立場を生かし、ディスカッションや調査を通して解決策を導くための新たな提案を行うことにより、企業・学生・地域社会にとって意義のあるものにする。履修学生はこのプロジェクトを通して、地域のビジネス現場を知り、課題発見・解決能力やコミュニケーション能力を含む社会人としての素養（エンプロイアビリティ）を高めることを目的としている。国内学生は、英語能力や異文化協働能力を向上させる機会となる。留学生は、日本の企業文化やビジネスの現場について理解を深めることができる。本授業は、主として英語によって行われるが、日本語も補助的に使用する場合がある。
This course is held in cooperation with the SENDAI Young Entrepreneurs Group (SENDAI YEG), an organization of young entrepreneurs from local companies in Sendai. This course is an international collaborative course; international students and domestic students collaboratively learn through a group project. Students will visit a local company in Sendai, conduct research, and present solutions for a problem of the company. This class aims to be beneficial not only for students and local companies, but also the Sendai community through discussions and group work by international and domestic students that use their diverse perspectives. Through this course, students will be able to have a better understanding of business in Sendai, and to develop employability by enhancing professional competencies such as communication and problem-solving skills. Domestic students can improve their English language skills and cross-cultural competency. International students can gain an understanding of Japanese business culture and Sendai's local companies.
The language used in this course will be primarily plain English, supplemented by Japanese.
