日本列島およびその隣接地域であるロシア・中国・モンゴル・朝鮮半島の自然・歴史・文化・現代を総合的に理解することを目的とする。現代世界を理解するための方法は、例えば経済学・政治学など様々なアプローチがある。地域研究はそのうちの一つであるが、学際的な手法をもちいて多様性を経験的に捉える点に特徴がある。特定の広域を対象に、その地質や生態系などの自然と歴史文化的背景を基盤にして現代の政治・経済・社会の諸相の複雑性の理解をめざすのである。もちろんそのためには既存のディシプリンに基づく方法論的視点の獲得が必要だが、その上で学際的知見を組み合わせた総合化が重要である。東北アジアは、日本と密接な関係をもつと同時に大きく異なる特徴をもった広域であり、その理解を深めることで、域内ばかりだけでなく、グローバルな現代における国家・民族・集団間の紛争・対立・交流の理解の手がかりを得ることができる。
The purpose of this course is to comprehensively understand the nature, history, culture, and modern times of the Japanese archipelago and its adjoining regions of Russia, China, Mongolia, and the Korean Peninsula. There are various disciplines to approach the modern world, such as economics and political science. Area studies is one of them, and it is characterized by an empirical understanding of diversity using an interdisciplinary approach. Targeting a specific wide area, we aim to comprehend the complexity of modern politics, economy, and society based on the natural and historical and cultural background. It is necessary to acquire methodological perspectives based on existing disciplines, but on top of that, it is important to integrate more than one disciplinary knowledge. Northeast Asia is a vast area that is closely related to Japan and at the same time has vastly different characteristics. By deepening our understanding of this region, we will be able to seize clues for conflicts, conflicts, and exchanges between nations, ethnicities, and other groups not only within the region but also in today's global society.
地理学が成立したプロセスと地理学の諸理論を習得するとともに、都市や集落の成立、産業の立地や地域との関係、日本を含む世界のの地域性などを題材にして、人間社会と環境との関係をを地理学の立場から理解する。
Students of this class learn a process and the geographical theories. On the basis of it, human society and local environment are understood from a geographical viewpoint.

1)目的
都市化に伴う環境変化のメカニズムとこれにより生じる環境問題について理解し、良好な都市環境を実現するための基礎知識を習得する。
2)概要
ヒートアイランドに代表される都市気候問題、地域の自然や気候の保有する環境ポテンシャルの評価とその利用、クリマアトラスを活用した都市環境計画、都市環境の計測手法、シミュレーション技術とその利用などについて解説する。
3)達成目標等
都市環境問題をもたらす要因とその対策手法について正しく理解し、合理的な都市環境計画を行うための基礎を習得する。

1) Objectives:
This course provide an overview of climate changes caused by urbanization and the resulting environmental problems, and explains basic knowledge for realizing a good urban environment.
2)Summary of class:
Lectures on urban climate issues such as urban heat island, evaluation of environmental potential of regional nature and climate and its utilization, urban environment planning using climate atlas, measurement technique of urban environment, simulation techniques and their application examples, etc..
3)Goal of study:
This course is designed to help students correctly understand the factors that cause urban environmental problems and their countermeasures, and the theoretical basis for rational urban environmental planning.
中国は、日本にとって重要な経済パートナーであると同時に安全保障上の懸念材料でもある。また、中国は、国際的な影響力を強めている一方で、国内の不安定化という問題を抱えている。
なぜ、このような矛盾が生じるのか？
本講義は、日本の将来を考えるうえで無視することのできない存在である中国に焦点をあて、政治学の分析枠組みを用いて、その基本的特徴について考察することを主たる目的としている。言い換えれば、中国はどんな国かということについて政治学の視点から把握しようとする試みである。
講義では、国民国家やナショナリズムという分析枠組みに関する基本的な説明を踏まえ、中国の国家形態が皇帝専制国家から国民国家へと変容する過程および中華人民共和国における共産党の統治の在り方について論じる。19世紀末以降の日中関係について考察することも本講義の重要な目的の一つとなる。
This lecture focuses on the process of nation-state building in modern China. It will examine the transformation of the character of modern Chinese nationalism and analyze the political structure of the Chinese communist regime.

天然資源の枯渇および地球環境悪化の影響が顕在化するに伴い、大量生産・消費型の社会から循環・環境調和型の持続発展可能な社会への転換が強く求められるようになっている。素材プロセスや材料開発に関わる研究者、技術者には、これを実現する大きな責任と重要な役割が期待されている。
本科目では、材料リサイクルの仕組みおよび制度、また、関連するエコプロセスの技術原理やエクセルギーの概念、マテリアルフロー、LCA （ライフサイクルアセスメント）、産業連関分析など、持続的社会の構築に関連する材料プロセス学について学ぶ。
現在の主要環境問題および関連する法規制やリサイクル制度の現状、循環利用が不可欠な物質のマテリアルフロー、定量的環境影響評価法としてのLCA、リサイクルプロセスとその重要性、自然エネルギー利用、エコマテリアルなどについて解説する。

Reformation of social system from “mass production and consumption” to “recycling-based sustainable” society has been strongly required with actualizing the depletion of natural resources and deterioration of the global environment. Great societal responsibility and significant roles have been expected to the researchers and engineers involved in the developments of material processes and technologies.
In this subject, the students study material processes closely related to the construction of sustainable society, e.g., material recycling systems and arrangements, and the relating technological principles such as the concept of exergy, material flow analysis, LCA (Life Cycle Assessment), interindustry relations analysis

産業革命以来，世界人口は急増したが，それに見合う食糧生産が行われてきた．しかしながら，環境保全的産業と考えられてきた農業も経済性を重視するあまり，化学化，機械化が進行し，地球環境に大きな負荷を与えている．そこで，世界人口の増加に起因する食糧問題と環境問題を克服するための方策として，環境と調和した農業のための土壌管理，栽培管理について，最新の知見を講義する．また，それぞれのトピックについて講義出席者全員で討議し，その実態理解と問題解決法について検討する．
Since the Industrial Revolution, the world population has increased rapidly, and food production has been commensurate with it. However, agriculture, which has been regarded as an environment-friendly industry, puts heavy burdens on the global environment, because of drastic chemicalization and mechanization to improve efficiency. In this course, the latest knowledge on soil and crop managements suitable for the environment, as a measure to overcome food and environmental problems caused by the increase in world population, is lectured. Each topic is discussed by all students to understand the problems and to explore the measures against them.
本講義では、定期刊行物、新聞などの分析を通した近現代中国史研究の分析方法論などについて考えていきます。そこで、本講義では近現代中国におけるイスラームとムスリムを題材として扱います。まず近現代中国と中国イスラームについて概観していきます。そのうえで、定期刊行物や雑誌を用いた中国ムスリム研究の事例を紹介していきます。その際に、具体的なトピックについての資料の講読・演習や討論などをまじえながら、具体的な課題の検討を試みます。
This course will discuss analytical methods for studying modern and contemporary Chinese history through the analysis of periodicals and newspapers. Therefore, this course will focus on Islam and Muslims in modern and contemporary China. First, we will provide an overview of modern and contemporary China and Chinese Islam. We will then present examples of Chinese Muslim studies using periodicals and journals. Throughout, we will attempt to examine specific issues through readings, exercises, and discussion of materials on specific topics.
