この授業では、人文科学（特に美術史）が現代社会においてどのような役割をもっているのか、つまりどのようにアクティヴな働きをするのかということについて、いくつかの角度から考察しながら、実践します。こうした目的から授業では、教員によるレクチャー、テクストの精読、参加者の発表という構成を取ります。演習を受講することで、自分が何をかんがえているのか、何にこだわりを持っているのかという各自の問題意識を発見できる手助けをし、あわせて、本の読み方、自分の意見を発表して人に理解してもらう方法を学ぶことができます。テキスト読解として、岡倉天心の『茶の本』を取りあげます。In this class, we will consider from several angles what role the humanities play in modern society, in other words, how they play an active role. For this purpose, the class consists of a lecture by the instructor, a careful reading of the text, and presentations by the participants. By taking seminars, students will be able to discover their awareness of issues, such as what they are thinking about and what they are particular about. At the same time, they can learn how to read books and how to express their opinions. The text will take up Tenshin Okakura's "The Book of Tea".
環境科学は，人間活動と自然環境の調和を維持し,豊かな環境を創造する新たな方策を探求するために，自然科学，社会科学，人文科学の広い分野が連携する学際的学問である。環境とは，地球や自然そのものだけでなく，社会や都市環境など，私たちを取り巻くあらゆる環境を指す。世界中の人たちが，今，私たちが享受しているような快適さを追い求め続けたならば，地球環境が危機に陥ってしまうということは明白である。環境のことを考慮したうえで，最適な解決策とは何か，持続可能な社会を作るにはどうすればよいかを考える。具体的には世界的取り組みであるSDGｓの考えを取り組みながら個々の課題について学ぶ。
Environmental science is an interdisciplinary field in which a wide range of fields, including natural science, social science, and humanities, collaborate in order to maintain harmony between human activities and the natural environment and explore new ways to create a rich environment. The environment refers not only to the earth and nature itself, but also to all the environments surrounding us, including society and the urban environment. It is clear that if people around the world continue to pursue the comforts that we enjoy today, the global environment will be in crisis. Considering the environment, think about what is the best solution and what can be done to create a sustainable society. Specifically, students will learn about individual issues while working on the idea of SDGs, which is a global initiative.
古代から近現代にいたる西洋美術を概観しながら、美術作品を通して、それが産み出された時代について探っていきたい。一般には、時代が芸術をつくりだすといわれることが多いが、ここでは芸術にこそもっともその時代の様相があらわれているという立場から講じていきたい。受講生は、美術作品が、その時代の美学、思想、宗教がどのように社会や文化の形成にかかわって行ったのかを学ぶことになる。
1回目のイントロダクションの授業において、講義のおおよその見取り図を示す。While surveying Western art from ancient times to modern times, I would like to explore the era in which it was produced through works of art. In general, it is often said that art is created by the times, but here I would like to speak from the standpoint that art is the most representative of the times. Students will learn how works of art influenced the formation of society and culture by the aesthetics, ideas, and religions of the time.
In the first introductory class, a rough sketch of the lecture will be shown.
この授業では、生あるかぎり避けて通ることのできない「死」という問題をさまざまな視点から考察していきます。そうすることによって、私たちがいかに生きるべきか、幸福な生とはどのようなことなのかをじっくり考察していきます。あわせてこの授業では、人文社会科学分野の第一線で活躍されている１４人の先生方をお招きし、死をめぐる諸問題についてスピーチしていただき、受講生の皆さんと議論します。授業は二部構成になっています。まず前半、講師のお話、後半は、皆さんからの質問や意見を手掛かりにして、講師がいろいろ答えていきます。
In this class, we will examine the issue of "death", which cannot be avoided as long as we live, from various perspectives. By doing so, we will carefully consider how we should live and what a happy life is like. In addition, in this class, we will invite 14 professors who are active on the front lines of the humanities and social sciences to give speeches on various issues surrounding death and discuss them with the students. The class consists of two parts. In the first half, the lecturer talks, and in the second half, the lecturer answers various questions based on the questions and opinions from everyone.

This class provides students with opportunities to think about what Japanese language education is. The students will have various kinds of experiences such as carrying out micro teaching activity and analyzing conversation with foreign exchange students.
人間はことばを用いて「世界がどうなっているのか」について考え、またその考えたことを他者と共有する動物である。というよりも、ことばをやりとりすることを通じて、はじめて私たちの「世界」というようなものが開けてくる。人間はどのようにしてことばを手に入れたのか、ことば自体はどんな要素や規則から成っているのか、それが指示する対象（物や出来事）との関係はどうなっているのかなど、ことばに関する様々な問いかけが、古代以来なされ続けてきた。この授業では、ヨーロッパ思想の歴史を追いながら、ことばに対するそうした問いかけの幾つかのトピックに焦点をあてる。特に、古代のレトリックや現代の語用論に注目し、コミュニケーションの観点から言語を考えることの重要性について考えたい。 /Humans are animals that use language to think about "what the world is like" and to share such thoughts with others. Rather, it is through the language exchange that our "world" reveals itself to us. Since ancient times, various questions have been asked concerning language, such as how humans acquired language, what elements and rules does the language consist of, and how it relates to the objects (things and events) to which it is directed. In this class, while tracing the history of Western thought, we will focus on some of the topics of such questions about language. In particular, we will pay special attention to ancient rhetoric and modern pragmatics from the perspective of communication.
