岡倉天心の芸術論と現代の「教養」
この授業では、人文科学（特に美術史）が現代社会においてどのような役割をもっているのか、つまりどのようにアクティヴな働きをするのかということについて、いくつかの角度から考察しながら、実践します。こうした目的から授業では、教員によるレクチャー、テクストの精読、参加者の発表という構成を取ります。演習を受講することで、自分が何をかんがえているのか、何にこだわりを持っているのかという各自の問題意識を発見できる手助けをし、あわせて、本の読み方、自分の意見を発表して人に理解してもらう方法を学ぶことができます。テキスト読解として、岡倉天心の『茶の本』を取りあげます。In this class, we will consider from several angles what role the humanities play in modern society, in other words, how they play an active role. For this purpose, the class consists of a lecture by the instructor, a careful reading of the text, and presentations by the participants. By taking seminars, students will be able to discover their awareness of issues, such as what they are thinking about and what they are particular about. At the same time, they can learn how to read books and how to express their opinions. The text will take up Tenshin Okakura's "The Book of Tea".
授業での到達目標としては、現実をじっくりみつめ、他者の意見をしっかりと読み込みながら、自分の考えていることを自覚できるようになる。そして、それを他人にパワーポイントなどの手段を使って伝えていくことができるようにする。学習においては、情報をインプットしそれをもとにして情報を産み出していくことができるような基礎力を養いたい。The goal to be achieved in class is to become aware of one's own thoughts while thoroughly examining reality and carefully considering the opinions of others. Then, students will be able to convey it to others using means such as PowerPoint. In learning, we will cultivate the basic academic ability to input appropriate knowledge and output thinking based on it.

発表の準備ならびに授業中指摘した問題点などを自分で調べること。また、授業上げられた参考文献などに眼を通すこと。
参考文献などは、その都度、授業中に指示する。Students are required to prepare for a single presentation, to research and prepare answers to the problems pointed out during the class, and to read through the reference materials given in class. References will be given during class each time
