memento mori－死を想え－
この授業では、生あるかぎり避けて通ることのできない「死」という問題をさまざまな視点から考察していきます。そうすることによって、私たちがいかに生きるべきか、幸福な生とはどのようなことなのかをじっくり考察していきます。あわせてこの授業では、人文社会科学分野の第一線で活躍されている１４人の先生方をお招きし、死をめぐる諸問題についてスピーチしていただき、受講生の皆さんと議論します。授業は二部構成になっています。まず前半、講師のお話、後半は、皆さんからの質問や意見を手掛かりにして、講師がいろいろ答えていきます。
In this class, we will examine the issue of "death", which cannot be avoided as long as we live, from various perspectives. By doing so, we will carefully consider how we should live and what a happy life is like. In addition, in this class, we will invite 14 professors who are active on the front lines of the humanities and social sciences to give speeches on various issues surrounding death and discuss them with the students. The class consists of two parts. In the first half, the lecturer talks, and in the second half, the lecturer answers various questions based on the questions and opinions from everyone.
日本の学生は、諸外国の学生にくらべて、発言をしないとよくいわれます。それは、習慣だけの問題ではありません。ディスカッションすることになれていないからだともいえます。議論は、一種運動に似ているところがあり、日々、いろいろな問題に対して意見をまとめていく訓練をしないと、なかなか人前で発言していくことができないものです。発言できても、自分が考えていることを適切に言葉にすることができないものです。この壁を壊していきましょう。また、スピーチと質問はそれぞれが自立しているわけではありません。実りある発表会というものは、スピーカーと聴衆の双方との討論を通して新たな次元に到達できるのです。この意味で、この授業に積極的に関わりエキサイティングな時間を過ごして下さい。盛り上がることは、スピーカーも含めた参加者全員にとって素晴らしい経験となるはずです。It is often said that Japanese students are less vocal than students from other countries. It's not just a matter of habit. It can be said that it is because they are not accustomed to having a discussion. Discussions are somewhat similar to activism, and unless you train yourself to formulate opinions on various issues on a daily basis, you will not be able to speak out in public. Even if you can speak up, you can't properly put into words what you're thinking. Let's break down this wall. Also, speeches and questions do not stand on their own. A successful presentation can reach new dimensions through discussion with both the speaker and the audience. In this sense, please be actively involved in this class and have an exciting time. The excitement should be a great experience for all attendees, including the speakers.
