西洋美術史を通してみる思想・宗教・社会 Thought, Religion, and Society through the History of Western Art
古代から近現代にいたる西洋美術を概観しながら、美術作品を通して、それが産み出された時代について探っていきたい。一般には、時代が芸術をつくりだすといわれることが多いが、ここでは芸術にこそもっともその時代の様相があらわれているという立場から講じていきたい。受講生は、美術作品が、その時代の美学、思想、宗教がどのように社会や文化の形成にかかわって行ったのかを学ぶことになる。
1回目のイントロダクションの授業において、講義のおおよその見取り図を示す。While surveying Western art from ancient times to modern times, I would like to explore the era in which it was produced through works of art. In general, it is often said that art is created by the times, but here I would like to speak from the standpoint that art is the most representative of the times. Students will learn how works of art influenced the formation of society and culture by the aesthetics, ideas, and religions of the time.
In the first introductory class, a rough sketch of the lecture will be shown.
美術作品とその時代の社会・思想・宗教などを学ぶアプローチは多様である。この授業では、鑑賞者の感性が作品解釈にどのようにかかわるのか、現代の課題を軸にして多角的に考えてみたい。そこから、芸術がどのようなアクチュアリティをもつのかを考え、ひいては人文学の新しい可能性を探りたい。またこの授業では、受講生との対話も重視し、毎回講義の中で受講生を指名し、意見を求める。そうした場を踏むことで、様々な課題に意見を述べる機会を持つことで、受講生が講じられていることと、自分の問題意識を接近させることができるようになる。There are various approaches to study artworks and the society, thought, religion, etc. of the time. In this class, I would like to think about how the sensibilities of the viewer are involved in the interpretation of artworks, with a focus on contemporary issues. From there, I would like to consider what kind of actuality art has, and by extension, explore new possibilities for the humanities. In addition, this class also emphasizes dialogue with students, and nominates students in each lecture and asks for their opinions. By going through such a forum and having opportunities to express opinions on various issues, students will be able to bring their awareness of the issues closer to what is being taught.
