この授業では、社会的な学習の本質を理解し、大学で学ぶ意味について探究する機会を提供するとともに、学生同士で対話や議論を通した「学び合い」が効果的にできるよう、実際に活用できる「学び合い」の技法を練習・実践します。
「学ぶ」ということばから、皆さんは、どのような活動や行為をイメージするでしょうか？
私たちは、ひとりでも学ぶことができます。特に大学では、自律的・主体的に学ぶことが求められます。しかし、私たちは、いつも独りで学んでいるわけではありません。大学は、みんなで学び合う学習コミュニティでもあります。
大学では、サークル活動や自主ゼミ、授業でのグループワークなど、学生同士の「学び合い」を経験する機会がたくさんあります。大学院生や社会人になれば、講義型の授業はほとんどなくなり、大半が「学び合い」の形態へとシフトしていきます。
そうは言っても、特に大学1年生の皆さんにとっては、みんなで「学び合う」とはどういうことかよく分からないかもしれません。あるいは、「学び合う」経験を今まであまりしてきていないと感じるかもしれません。「学び合う」ことにどんな効果や意味があるのか、ピンと来ないという人もいると思います。
ただ単に学生が集まったというだけでは、良い「学び合い」はできません。効果的に学び合うためには、「ファシリテーション」（＝その学びの場をデザインし、信頼関係の構築を促し、対話や議論を引き出し、論点整理すること）を担う役割が必要です。この役割を担う人のことを、一般的に「ファシリテーター」と呼びます。「ファシリテーター」は、教員や特別な立場の人だけが担うものではありません。何よりも、「ファシリテーション」のスキルを習得すると、自分自身の思考を深めたり、発想を拡げたりすることが上手にできるようにもなります。この授業を通して、皆さんには実践的なファシリテーションの知識とスキルを習得してもらいます。
This class offers an opportunity to experience basic liberal arts education and to think about the nature of social learning and the meaning of learning at the university. In addition, participants will practice the techniques of “cooperative learning” that can be actually used so that you can effectively learn from each other through dialogue and discussion.
It is not possible to have a good “cooperative learning” simply by gathering several students. In order to learn effectively, it is necessary to have the role of "facilitation" (= designing a place for learning, encouraging the building of trust, drawing dialogue and discussion, and organizing logics). The person who plays this role is commonly called a "facilitator". Facilitators are not only professors and special staff. Best of all, learning the facilitation skills will help you to deepen your own thoughts and broaden your ideas. Through this program, you will acquire practical facilitation knowledge and skills.
この授業では、アカデミック・ライティングの基本を実践的に学修します。
『レポート指南書』にまとめられている入門レベルを学修済の皆さんに向けて、さらに「論理的」に物事を捉え、分析し、考察し、表現できるようになるための演習を行います。
この授業は、次のような学生の皆さんのための授業としてデザインします。
・様々な授業で課されるレポートの質をもっと上げたいが、自分ひとりでは限界があると感じている。
・説得力のある文章を書けるようになりたいが、どうしたらいいのか分からず悩んでいる。
・書く時だけでなく、学生間で議論している時にも、論理的に話せない。
・議論の際に話があちこちに逸れても、どうまとめればいいか分からない。
・何か問いが与えられた時に、そこからどう論理を組み立てて意見を述べていいのか分からない。
論理の基本から学び、受講生同士で議論し、個々人で深く思考しながら書き、またそれをピアレビューする過程の中で、共同で思考し自らの意見を論理的に構成する練習を繰り返します。
This class is to learn the basics of academic writing in a practical way.
This is designed for students who have already mastered the introductory level of academic writing as outlined in "The Academic Writing Handbook for Tohoku University Students”.
You will have the opportunity to further improve their ability to perceive, analyze, discuss, and express things in a "logical" manner.
This class is intended for the following students.
・ Students who want to improve the quality of their papers but feel limited in their ability to do so on their own.
・ Those who have a desire to be able to write persuasively, but do not know how.
・ Those who find it difficult to speak logically as well as write.
・ Those who are not good at getting back on track and summarizing when the discussion makes a digression.
・ Those who feel difficult to logically construct their opinions.
Students will learn the basics of logic, discuss them with other students, write them individually while thinking deeply about them, and experience the process of peer reviewing them.
In this way, students will repeat the practice of thinking collaboratively and structuring their own opinions logically.
In this course, students will learn the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes that are needed to create their own careers, by viewing careers as a lifelong process of continuous learning and action. These basic knowledge, skills and attitudes are necessary not only for students considering employment after undergraduate study, but also for students who wish to study at graduate school or pursue a research career.
The course will promote students to: (1) learn from guest speakers with a variety of cultural, educational and professional backgrounds in order to gain knowledge and information that will be useful in shaping their own career perspectives; (2) engage in collaborative learning with other students in order to understand the significance of working together; and (3) review the results of their learning by providing presentations and writing reports in order to reflect the results of their studies, set career goals, and take concrete action. In particular, participating students are facilitated to actively interact with others by speaking and listening to each other, in order to maximize their learning. Guest speakers will include leading global figures from different fields and ways of working.
This course will be conducted in English. A certain level of skill in interacting and discussing in English is required.
本科目では、キャリアを生涯にわたり継続的に学び行動するプロセスととらえ、これからの自身のキャリアを主体的に作り上げていくための基礎的な知識、スキル、態度を学びます。これらの基礎的な知識、スキル、態度は、学部卒業後に就職を検討している学生のみならず、大学院進学や研究職を希望する学生にとっても必要な汎用的技能（ジェネリックスキル）といえます。
受講生は、①自身のキャリア観の形成にとって有益な知識や情報を得るために、多様な文化的、教育学習的あるいは職業上のバックグラウンドをもつゲストスピーカーの講義等から学び、②協働することの意義を知るために、履修する仲間との協同学習をおこない、そして③学びの成果を俯瞰し、キャリアに関する目標を立て具体的な行動へとつなげるために、プレゼンテーションやレポートなどの成果を提出します。とりわけ、本科目での学びを最大化するためには、参加する学生同士が発言や傾聴などを通して積極的に他者と相互作用する学習活動が求められます。ゲストスピーカーには多様な領域でグローバルに活躍する方々をお迎えします。
本科目は原則として英語でおこないます。そのため、受講には英語による対話やディスカッションをするための英語運用能力が求められます。
本演習は、以下の4点を目的としています。
（１）学校教育学研究の基本的作法を体験し、教育を研究対象とすることの意味を理解する
（２）学校教育を題材にした一連の問題解決型学習をこなすことで、社会科学におけるアカデミック・スキルの基本を習得する
（３）研究に欠かせない「他者との学び合い」を体感し、その技法を身につける
（４）よい教育とは何かを考え抜くことを通じて、自分自身の教養の糧にする
学校教育は様々な難しさを抱えています。利害関係の渦に巻き込まれながら改革が日々繰り返されていますが、「よい教育」に「なかなかたどり着けない」のが実情です。数多くの改善策や諸研究が優れた成果を生み出しているようには見えないのはなぜなのでしょうか。
この演習では、教育を研究するとはどのような営みなのかを実際に体験してもらい、教育という捉えどころのない複雑な社会的実践に向き合います。受講生は、単なる学習者ではなく、学校教育（国内の幼稚園～大学を想定）の本質を探求しようとする1人の教育学研究者とみなされます。皆さんの経験を振り返り、先行研究を批判的に解釈し、各自の興味・関心に基づきながら「深い問い」を立て、実験・調査に取り組み、論理的に分析・考察し、「意味のある結論」を導き、成果を報告するという自律的な探究学習（open inquiry）を進めるなかで、「よい教育」とは何なのかを考えていきましょう。
教育に関する専門知識の習得が目的ではなく、演習開始時までに特定分野の知識を習得しておく必要はありません。教育学研究者がどのように研究をしているのか、そして彼らにしかできないことは何なのかを探求する経験は、皆さんがこれから足を踏み入れる各分野のアカデミック・アクティビティと、今後の学習・教育活動に活かすことができるでしょう。
The objectives of this exercise are listed as follows:
(1) Experiencing basic research methods on school education and understanding the meaning of education as a research subject.
(2) Acquiring basic academic skills in social sciences through a series of problem-solving studies using school education as the subject.
(3) Experiencing “cooperative learning” essential for research and acquiring this technique.
(4) Nourishing one’s own culture by deeply thinking about what good education is.
School education faces several challenges. Daily reforms are being made while dealing with rigorous conflicting interests. However, in reality, “good education” is “hard to attain.” Why do numerous improvement measures and studies not yield excellent results?
In this class, students will experience the nature of studying education and confront its elusive and complex social practice. You will be considered not only a learner but also an educational researcher who explores the nature of school education (i.e., from kindergarten through university in Japan). In the course of an open inquiry, you will reflect on your experiences, critically interpret previous research, construct a “thoughtful question” based on your own interests, conduct experiments and surveys, logically analyze and discuss the results, draw “meaningful conclusions,” and report your findings. In this way, we will realize the meaning of “good education.”
The objective is not to acquire specialized knowledge about education. It is not necessary to acquire knowledge of a specific field from the beginning of the class. The experience of exploring how educational researchers conduct their research will help you in your learning and future academic activities in various fields.
In this class students will develop an understanding of intercultural communication studies and through group work and workshops recognize the complications and difficulties that arise in communication. Theatrical workshops by Rengyo sensei (professional writer, director, actor) and other guest speakers , and tasks of creating performances and discussions with classmates will be given in the class, and students will gain experiences in intercultural communication and resolving problems. During the fall semester students will focus on problems regarding language communication which arise in intercultural situations.
Students who participate in this class as graduate students are expected to acquire the ability to design intercultural communication as a facilitator by observing communication in the classroom at a meta-level and facilitating interactions among participants in group work and workshops.

この授業の目的は、自己理解とキャリア形成の機会を提供し、大学での経験をより意味あるものにすることです。「大学で何を学び、その学びは、次のキャリアでどう役に立つのか」という問いに、他者と共に向き合う中で、自己理解と自己表現のスキルを身につけ、将来のキャリアや学術研究に役立ててもらいます。
この授業は、高年次教養教育科目に位置づけられ、時間割や教室の枠を越えた「枠外授業」として設計されています。主として、オンラインでの非同期ワーク（オンデマンド動画の視聴＋オンラインホワイトボード等を使用したワーク）を行い、その成果について数回のオンライン・リアルタイムで議論します。学習支援システムとは、Google Classroomを使用します。ただし必要に応じて、時間と場所について調整し、対面で授業を実施する可能性もあります。

It aims to help you develop self-understanding and self-expression skills by facing the question, 'What do you learn in university, and how will this learning be useful in your next career?' along with others. These skills will be valuable for your future career and academic research.
Primarily, it involves asynchronous online work (such as watching on-demand videos and working with online whiteboards), followed by several online real-time discussions about the outcomes. Google Classroom will be used as the learning support system. However, there is also a possibility of conducting face-to-face classes as needed, with adjustments made for time and location."

In this seminar, students will learn the basic knowledge necessary to analyze data on contemporary politics. The aim of this course is to acquire the basics of handling and analyzing data, rather than to know advanced analytical methods. No prior knowledge of statistics is required.
本科目では、博士リテラシーを、博士として（研究者として、人として）生き抜いていくための総合力と捉えます。その中核をなすのは、言うまでもなく研究の遂行能力（研究力）です。そこには、発想力や論理力も含まれます。この資質・能力は、主に研究室の日常を通して磨かれていきます。そして、その殆どが分野を越えて活用できるものなのです。本科目では、このことへの気付きからスタートします。さらに、皆さんが学位を取得した後、アカデミアに進むにしても、企業などに進むにしても、さらに必要とされる資質・能力がいくつかあります。それらは、人と人との関わり合いに絡んでくるものです。身近な人とのコミュニケーション力や、プロジェクト遂行のためのマネージメント力などがまず挙げられます。本科目の主要部分では、これらの資質・能力の底上げを図ることを目指しています。個人の課題から世界の課題まで皆さんそれぞれの問題意識を喚起し、その後の成長の糧となることや、異なる分野に属する受講生同士が新たな人的ネットワークを構築する場となることも目指しています。
In this course, Ph.D. literacy is viewed as a comprehensive ability to survive as a doctor (as a researcher and as a person). At its core is the ability to conduct research (research capability). This includes the ability to come up with ideas and use logic. The research capability is refined mainly through daily life in the laboratory. And most of them can be used across disciplines. This course will start with an awareness of this fact. Further, there are some additional qualities and capabilities that you will need after you obtain your degree, irrespective of whether you go into academia or business. They are those that involve people-to-people relationships. The first ones are the ability to communicate with the people close to you and the management skills to execute projects. In the main part of this course, we aim to raise the level of these qualities and capabilities. It also aims to arouse your awareness of issues ranging from personal to global and to provide an opportunity for students in different fields to build new human networks.
