【国際共修】Facing your career: Meet Senpai and create your own model (English)
キャリアと向き合う：先輩に会い、自身のキャリアモデルをつくる（英語）
In this course, students will learn the basic knowledge, skills and attitudes that are needed to create their own careers, by viewing careers as a lifelong process of continuous learning and action. These basic knowledge, skills and attitudes are necessary not only for students considering employment after undergraduate study, but also for students who wish to study at graduate school or pursue a research career.
The course will promote students to: (1) learn from guest speakers with a variety of cultural, educational and professional backgrounds in order to gain knowledge and information that will be useful in shaping their own career perspectives; (2) engage in collaborative learning with other students in order to understand the significance of working together; and (3) review the results of their learning by providing presentations and writing reports in order to reflect the results of their studies, set career goals, and take concrete action. In particular, participating students are facilitated to actively interact with others by speaking and listening to each other, in order to maximize their learning. Guest speakers will include leading global figures from different fields and ways of working.
This course will be conducted in English. A certain level of skill in interacting and discussing in English is required.
本科目では、キャリアを生涯にわたり継続的に学び行動するプロセスととらえ、これからの自身のキャリアを主体的に作り上げていくための基礎的な知識、スキル、態度を学びます。これらの基礎的な知識、スキル、態度は、学部卒業後に就職を検討している学生のみならず、大学院進学や研究職を希望する学生にとっても必要な汎用的技能（ジェネリックスキル）といえます。
受講生は、①自身のキャリア観の形成にとって有益な知識や情報を得るために、多様な文化的、教育学習的あるいは職業上のバックグラウンドをもつゲストスピーカーの講義等から学び、②協働することの意義を知るために、履修する仲間との協同学習をおこない、そして③学びの成果を俯瞰し、キャリアに関する目標を立て具体的な行動へとつなげるために、プレゼンテーションやレポートなどの成果を提出します。とりわけ、本科目での学びを最大化するためには、参加する学生同士が発言や傾聴などを通して積極的に他者と相互作用する学習活動が求められます。ゲストスピーカーには多様な領域でグローバルに活躍する方々をお迎えします。
本科目は原則として英語でおこないます。そのため、受講には英語による対話やディスカッションをするための英語運用能力が求められます。
Through learning in this course, students are expected to:
1. define a clear vision of their own career by actively gathering information and accumulating knowledge.
2. expand the capacity for expressing ideas and arguments logically, critically and appropriately through dialogue, presentation and writing activities.
3. develop the skills and attitudes necessary for collaboration with others, by active listening and communication.

Throughout the studies, students will be expected to take an active part, to give their best and to respect collaboration with their peers. The assessment includes not only the acquisition of knowledge and skills from lectures, but also an attitude of learning from each other through dialogue and communication, and the commitment to psychological safety in the learning community. The assessment of students’ performance will be determined as follows:
1. Attendance and participation: 20%
Attendance of all sessions and contribution to the learning of all students by active participation are required and evaluated. Two late arrivals or early leave (20 minutes or more) in classes will be equal to one absence. If a student wishes to be excused from a class due to unavoidable reasons, such as illness, it is the student’s responsibility to inform the instructor of the absence by email as soon as possible (preferably before the expected absence). Students who miss a class should contact the instructor by email to get the assignment of the session.
2. Reflective journal: 20%
Submission and content of a reflective journal, which is given almost weekly, will be assessed.
3. Group project: 30%
Students will carry out a group project on career perspectives based on learning from guest speakers and through intercultural collaborative learning activities with their peers, to provide a final presentation. The progress of the project, the presentation materials and the oral presentation at the final presentation will be included in the assessment.
4. Report: 30%
Submission and the content of an individual final report about their achievement of the learning objectives are assessed, according to predetermined assessment criteria.
Students must abide by the rules and deadlines set for assignments. If students do not abide by the set rules and deadlines, the assignments cannot be evaluated.
学習全体を通して、積極的な参加やベストを尽くす姿勢、仲間との協働を尊重する態度が求められます。評価観点には講義等から得る知識やスキルの獲得だけでなく、対話やコミュニケーションを通してお互いから学び合う姿勢や、学習コミュニティに自ら心理的安全性を作ろうと努力する態度も含まれます。
成績評価は以下のようにおこないます。
1. 授業への出席と積極的参加: 20%
全授業回への出席およびディスカッション等への積極的な参加によるクラス全体の学習への貢献度が求められ、評価されます。セッションへの2回の遅刻および早退（どちらも20分以上）は1回分の欠席に相当します。病気等やむを得ない理由で授業を欠席する場合は、できるだけ早く（できれば欠席予定日より前に）講師にメールで連絡するようにしてください。授業を欠席した学生は、その回の課題を得るために講師にメールで連絡してください。
2. リフレクティブ・ジャーナル: 20%
ほぼ毎週出題されるリフレクティブ・ジャーナル（学びの振り返り記録）の提出とその内容が評価されます。
3. グループプロジェクト: 30%
ゲストスピーカーおよび仲間との協働学習から得た学びをふまえたキャリア観に関するグループプロジェクトを実施し、最終発表をおこないます。プロジェクトの進行状況、および最終発表でのプレゼンテーション資料と口頭発表が評価に含まれます。
4. レポート: 30%
学習到達目標の達成度をはかるための最終個人レポートの提出とその内容について、あらかじめ定められた評価基準に従って評価されます。
課題等の提出物は、指定されたルールと提出期限を守ること。守られない場合は成績評価の対象となりません。
According to the content of each session, 2-4 hours of preparation and revision per week is expected. Group work for a project is expected to be carried out outside class time, too. Details of preparation and review will be provided in each session.
