近年、ジェンダー平等について社会的関心が高まるなかで、経済史研究の分野でも女性の労働やライフコース、エンパワメントに関する研究が急速に進展しつつあります。本授業では、経済史分野での女性労働やジェンダー（不）平等に関する代表的な著作や近年の論文を原文で読み、経済史研究の新潮流に触れることを目的とします。
In recent years, as social interest in gender equality has increased, research on women's labor, life course, and empowerment has rapidly progressed in economic history research. The purpose of this class is to expose you to new trends in economic history research by reading the original texts of representative works and recent papers on women's labor and gender inequality in economic history.
社会福祉の源流として、キリスト教など諸宗教の慈善活動がある。これらの慈善活動そのものは意義深いものであるが、時代性による限界もあって、人権意識や平等性に課題があった。そのような前近代的課題を克服することで、個人の自由を前提とした「社会福祉」が発展した。このような経緯を踏まえて、日本での仏教社会福祉史、バングラデシュの仏教徒と社会福祉活動、⻑岡⻄病院ビハーラ病棟、東日本大震災後の被災者支援活動などを例に、宗教と社会福祉の関係性について考察し、超高齢多死社会となる日本社会において、宗教が果たし得る役割について検討する。
The source of social welfare is the charity activities of various religions, including Christianity. Although these charity activities themselves are significant, they are limited by the times, and there are issues with human rights awareness and equality. By overcoming such pre-modern challenges, "social welfare" based on individual freedom developed. Based on this background, we will consider the relationship between religion and social welfare, using examples such as the history of Buddhist social welfare in Japan, Buddhists and social welfare activities in Bangladesh, the Vihara Ward of Nagaoka Nishi Hospital, and support activities for victims after the Great East Japan Earthquake, and so on. We will examine the role of religion in Japanese society, which is becoming a super-aging death-ridden society.

応用倫理学では、理論だけではなく、社会問題が起きている現場のリアリティを学びながら、「私たちはどう行動すべきか」を検討しなければなりません。本講義では、ジェンダー/セクシュアリティをテーマに挙げ、社会問題の背景にある歴史的文脈・社会構造を学びながら、倫理的考察を進める方法を学びます。狭義の倫理学の知識だけではなく、社会学、心理学、歴史学等の知見を援用しながら、授業を進めます。
本講義はケーススタディを行います。センシティブなテーマも扱うので、受講する前に必ず内容を確認して、慎重に判断してください。
In applied ethics, we must examine "how we should act" while learning not only theory but also the reality of the field where ethical conflicts are arising. This course highlights one of the most controversial topics of our time, gender/sexuality, and promotes ethical reflection while studying the historical context and social structure behind social conflicts. The course will not only focus on knowledge of ethics in the narrow sense, but will also refer to findings from sociology, psychology, history and other disciplines.
This lecture will be based on case studies. I will also deal with sensitive topics, so please be sure to check the content and make a careful decision before attending the course.
本授業では、日本におけるジェンダー研究の展開と蓄積を学ぶとともに、日本社会をジェンダーの視点から読み解く力を身につける。具体的には、文献の講読と解説と議論を通して、教育、労働、家族、福祉など、身近な論点を取り上げながら考察を深めていく。さらに、東大祝辞（2019年）を解読することを通して、日本におけるジェンダー問題を把握し、生きやすい社会になるためにはどのようにしていきたいかを主体的に考える。
The purpose of this course is to give an overview of the development of gender studies and research in Japan. It also aims to analyze Japanese society from the perspective of gender. Through reading papers, lectures, and discussion, the course will handle topics such as education, labor, family, and care work. Furthermore, through a reading of Chizuko Ueno’s 2019 Matriculation Ceremony Congratulatory Address at the University of Tokyo, this course will help students grasp social problems in Japan from the perspective of gender, and explore how we can take independent action to change society.
本授業では、日本におけるジェンダー研究の展開と蓄積を学ぶとともに、ジェンダーの視点から日本社会を読み解くことを目的とする。国際社会における日本の位置付けについても考察する。本授業では、家族、労働、教育、法、政治、観光、災害、福祉など、身近な論点を取り上げながら考察を深めていく。さらに、東大祝辞（2019年）を読み解くことを通して、一人一人が生きやすい社会になるためにはどうしたらよいかを考える。
The purpose of this course is to give an overview of the development of research on gender in Japan. It also aims to analyze Japanese society from a gender perspective, and to examine Japan’s position in the international community. The topics addressed will include family, labor, education, law, politics, tourism, disasters, and care work. Furthermore, through a reading of Chizuko Ueno’s 2019 Matriculation Ceremony Congratulatory Address at the University of Tokyo, the course will help students explore how we can take independent action to create a society that is easy to live in and where everybody respects each other’s way of life.
不確実性やリスクは、災害・環境・健康・科学技術・犯罪等といった多様な問題領域と関わり合いながら、昨今の社会学でも重要な概念の一つとなっている。この授業ではリスクや不確実性に関する社会学の定評あるテキストを取り上げ、多様なテーマをリスク概念と関連づけながら議論していくことで、受講生とともに、「リスク社会化」する社会を、社会学的にいかに論じうるかを探ってみたい。とくに、いわゆる「リスク社会」論では相対的に見過ごされてきたジェンダーとリスクとの関連について、考察する。
"Risk" and "uncertainty" are treated as the basic concepts of sociology today. Those are related to the various subjects such as disater, environmental problem,crime,and technological crisis. In this course, we will discuss the way to discribe the modern society which has become a "risk society" through doing a close and careful examination of the text. Particularly, we will discuss the relationship between gender and risks, which has been somewhat overlooked in so-called "risk society" theory.
