・言語は、ジャンル、地域､時代、使用者、媒体等によるバリエーションについて、広がりを見せる。本講義では物語とことばの関係を扱う。物語で使用されることば、物語と他のジャンルとの違い、語られることばの特徴など、「物語」をキーワードに日本語を分析する事例と分析方法について講義する。
This course introduces narrative analysis in Japanese language variations. Variety is a specific set of human speech patterns. Viewing language as a realization of language use, the focus of the course is on examining the interrelationship between narratives in sounds, words, grammatical features, and people’s language use in everyday life.
物語の分析理論が、実際の語りや物語作品のことばの分析にどのように適用できるかを演習をとおして体験する。物語にはフィクションとしての物語作品の他に、日常会話における語り（ナラティブ）も含む。
Through exercises, students will experience how the theory of narrative analysis can be applied to the analysis of the language of actual narrative works. Narratives include not only fictional narrative works but also narratives in everyday conversation.

日本語は、われわれのもっとも身近にある言語である。とはいえ、実際にはわからないこともさまざまにある。その日本語とはどのような言語であるのか、また、その日本語はどのように運用されているのか。そのような課題に答えるのが、日本語学という学問分野である。ここでは、この日本語学の考え方にもとづいて、現代日本語をさまざまな側面から考えてみる。まず、はじめに日本語学の考え方や分野について概説する。その後、日本語についての調査・分析を参加者自身がおこなっていく。日本語の方言を含むさまざまな日本語についての考察、現代日本語の具体的な運用についての考察をすすめ、報告、議論をおこなう。
This course deals with the basic issues of Japanese linguistics and how they have been treated in the field of linguistics. You’ll get an introduction to the main approaches used in linguistic research, including linguistic structure, phonetics, dialects, history, and discourse analysis. You’ll apply the key methods used in linguistic descriptions to the analysis of your language, and discuss them with your classmates.
これまでの方言研究では、ことばの運用の地域差の解明に資する資料の蓄積とそれを用いた研究がまだ十分とは言えなかった。また、それらも含めたことばの総合的な地域差の研究成果をもとに、研究成果を社会に還元する取り組みにもさらなる展開の余地があると言える。
近年ではことばの運用の地域差解明に向けた理論と研究視座が発展し、ことばの地域差の研究成果を応用する実践的方言学も展開している。この授業では、そのような研究の目的と方法論を解説し、具体的な言語運用の地域差の記述、分析、応用を通してさまざまな課題について検討していく。
今回は特に、これまで研究が進んでいなかった言語行動や感動詞、談話などを取り上げる。
Conventional dialect research has yet to accumulate enough data that would contribute to the clarification of regional differences in the use of language and to conduct research using such data. There is also room for further development in efforts to return research results to society based on the results of comprehensive research on regional differences in language, including regional differences in language use.
In recent years, theories and research perspectives have been developed to elucidate regional differences in language use, and practical dialectology has also been developed to apply the results of research on regional differences in language use. In this class, the purpose and methodology of such research will be explained, and various issues will be discussed through the description, analysis, and application of regional differences in specific language operations.
This time, we will particularly focus on linguistic behavior, interjections, and discourse, which have not been studied before, and consider their structure, variation, and regional differences in operation, and also examine their historical aspects.

学習者が話す、または書くことができるようになるためには、何が必要で、教師は何をすべきなのか、話し言葉・書き言葉の教育の内容と方法について考える。まず、話し言葉、または書き言葉の特徴について分析的に概観しつつ、学習者が日本語で話す、または書く可能性のある場面と、その場面でのコミュニケーション行動をリストアップし、その行動で必要となる学習項目を抽出する。そして、そのための様々な学習活動を考え、教材を作成し、評価する。
