この授業では、人文科学（特に美術史）が現代社会においてどのような役割をもっているのか、つまりどのようにアクティヴな働きをするのかということについて、いくつかの角度から考察しながら、実践します。こうした目的から授業では、教員によるレクチャー、テクストの精読、参加者の発表という構成を取ります。演習を受講することで、自分が何をかんがえているのか、何にこだわりを持っているのかという各自の問題意識を発見できる手助けをし、あわせて、本の読み方、自分の意見を発表して人に理解してもらう方法を学ぶことができます。テキスト読解として、岡倉天心の『茶の本』を取りあげます。In this class, we will consider from several angles what role the humanities play in modern society, in other words, how they play an active role. For this purpose, the class consists of a lecture by the instructor, a careful reading of the text, and presentations by the participants. By taking seminars, students will be able to discover their awareness of issues, such as what they are thinking about and what they are particular about. At the same time, they can learn how to read books and how to express their opinions. The text will take up Tenshin Okakura's "The Book of Tea".
・この授業は、文学部の必修科目であり、文学部の学生は１年次の第１セメスターに必ず履修する必要があります。
・毎週水曜第５時限と金曜第４時限に、文学部の26すべての専修について、代表する教員が各１回講義を行います。
・文学部生は、この全授業を受講し、人文社会科学というものを総合的に理解することが望まれます。
・課題として合計４つのレポートを作成し提出してもらうことになります。
・第１回の授業の際に詳しいオリエンテーションを行いますので、必ず受講してください。
・受講のうえで不明な点などがありましたら、上に名前を挙げた教員に聞いてください。
・This course is compulsory for all first-year students of the Faculty of Arts and Letters in the first semester.
・In this course, all the 26 departments at the Faculty of Arts and Letters will offer a lecture on Wednesday 5th period or Friday 4th period.
・The students are expected to attend all lectures and explore the field of humanity and social science comprehensively.
・Four essays are required to complete this course.

In this class, we will introduce research deeply related to the SDGs from the perspective of a specialized field, and based on this research and presentations, participants will deepen their understanding by considering the goals and missions that academics should aim for.
古代から近現代にいたる西洋美術を概観しながら、美術作品を通して、それが産み出された時代について探っていきたい。一般には、時代が芸術をつくりだすといわれることが多いが、ここでは芸術にこそもっともその時代の様相があらわれているという立場から講じていきたい。受講生は、美術作品が、その時代の美学、思想、宗教がどのように社会や文化の形成にかかわって行ったのかを学ぶことになる。

本講は本当の意味での「美術鑑賞」を行うための実践的授業で、講師の近著である『鑑定学への招待』に書いた内容を実際に行う。つまり、毎回、日本美術史が扱う絵画、彫刻、工芸など諸分野のなかから１作品を取り上げ、そこから読み取るべき情報の獲得を「トレーニング」する。
たとえば、絵画作品について「筆遣いが良い」との評価がなされた場合、それを「実感」するためには「感性」によるしかないと一般的には思われているだろう。ここで言う「感性」とは持って生まれたり、環境によって育まれた個人の「資質」に起因するものだが、そのように規定してしまえば「教育」の余地が失われることになってしまう。けれども、多くの人がそれを「実感」し、共有するためには「教育」が不可欠である。
そこで本講では同じようにみえる類似した２作品を提示し、その中に存在する相違点を見出して指摘、発表していく実習形式をとる。作品比較を続けていけば、やがて「どちらが良い線か」「どちらが上手いか」などの「認識」が育まれてくる。
これは美術史研究にとって不可欠な「スキル」であり、その先に「真贋」の判別にも必要な「鑑識眼」の獲得に結びつくのは言うまでもない。
毎回、他学部や他専修の受講生も参加しており、この論理性を重視する方法論はどのような学問にも有効と考える。未開発の能力が開花する可能性もあるため、美術史を専門としない学生の受講も歓迎する。
This course provides programs of training to read information on Japanese art work.It helps students learn about the differences between Japanese art work by comparison and appreciate them.
人間を特別な存在たらしめるもののひとつに道徳性がある。現在、人間の道徳性の起源や発達については、社会科学、生物科学、人文科学など様々な研究分野で議論されている。
本講義では、特に心理学の知見をもとに、人間の道徳とは何か、どのように発達していくのか、どのように教育していけばよいのかを議論する。また、受講生は、他の受講生に対して、自由な発想でオリジナルの「道徳の授業」を提案し、実践する。
この「道徳の授業」は、小中学校の『道徳の時間』に囚われる必要はない。特に、一つの答えを押し付けないよう気をつけてほしい。

The origins and development of human morality are currently being discussed in various fields of research in the social sciences, the biological sciences and the humanities.
In this course, we will discuss what human morality is, how it develops, and how it can be educated, especially based on the findings of psychology.
Students will also propose and practice 'moral lessons' for other students in the course.
It is hoped that this moral lesson will be free from the "Dotoku-no-Jikan" of primary and secondary school and that they will avoid imposing a single answer. Students could create their own lessons based on their free ideas.
この授業では、生あるかぎり避けて通ることのできない「死」という問題をさまざまな視点から考察していきます。そうすることによって、私たちがいかに生きるべきか、幸福な生とはどのようなことなのかをじっくり考察していきます。あわせてこの授業では、人文社会科学分野の第一線で活躍されている１４人の先生方をお招きし、死をめぐる諸問題についてスピーチしていただき、受講生の皆さんと議論します。授業は二部構成になっています。まず前半、講師のお話、後半は、皆さんからの質問や意見を手掛かりにして、講師がいろいろ答えていきます。
In this class, we will examine the issue of "death", which cannot be avoided as long as we live, from various perspectives. By doing so, we will carefully consider how we should live and what a happy life is like. In addition, in this class, we will invite 14 professors who are active on the front lines of the humanities and social sciences to give speeches on various issues surrounding death and discuss them with the students. The class consists of two parts. In the first half, the lecturer talks, and in the second half, the lecturer answers various questions based on the questions and opinions from everyone.
