Moreover, it addresses intellectual property valuation, the utilization of industrial property data, and recent trends in intellectual property rights from a pragmatic perspective.
The objective of this course is to equip students with practical foundational knowledge regarding intellectual property and intellectual property rights.
Upon completion of the course, participants are expected to grasp the fundamental principles of industrial property laws, comprehend the standard methodologies for evaluating intellectual property, and discern the process of acquiring and leveraging industrial property rights data.

知的財産権制度とは、知的創造活動によって生み出された発明等を、その発明等を創作した人の財産として保護するための制度である。研究開発活動を通じて得られた発明・考案等の成果物を、知的財産権（特許権、実用新案権、意匠権、商標権等）として保護をすることにより、自身の研究開発や事業活動の権利や自由度を確保し、第三者の不当な模倣・ただ乗りを防止すると共に、他者の知的財産権を尊重する必要がある。また近年は、研究機関における産学連携や外部資金の獲得等を行うためにも知的財産権の取得が必須となっている。
本講義の目的は、次の３点を習得することである。
1)知的財産権制度の基礎を理解すること、
2)技術開発の動向や研究分野の出願動向等を理解する上で重要な、特許情報の調査方法を習得すること、
3)研究技術開発の成果物を、特許化し活用できるかについて、考察すること

The intellectual property rights system is a system for protecting an invention or the like generated by an intellectual creation activity as a property of a person who created the invention or the like. It is necessary to protect products such as inventions and devises obtained through research and development activities as intellectual property rights (such as patent rights, practical news rights, design rights, and trade rights), thereby ensuring the rights and degrees of freedom of their research and development and business activities, preventing unsuitable mimetics and rides of third parties, and forecasting the intellectual property rights of others. In recent years, acquisition of intellectual property rights is also essential in order to perform industrial cooperation in research institutions, acquisition of external funds, and the like.
The purpose of this lecture is to learn the following three points.
1) Understanding the basis of an intellectual property rights system
2) Obtaining a method of investigating patent information, which is important in understanding the trend of technical development, the trend of application in the field of research, and the like.
3) Considering how the results of research technology development can be patented and explored.
知的財産法に属する法律のうち、特に特許法、実用新案法、意匠法、商標法、著作権法、不正競争防止法を中心として講義を行う。
This course teaches the basics of intellectual property law in Japan, especially patent law, utility model law, design law, trademark law, copyright law, and unfair competition law.

特許制度と社会実装との関係について理解した上で、新規の研究開発に向けた情報分析、強くて広い特許権の取得、特許権の被疑侵害者への対応、特許権侵害の回避といったさまざまな場面で要求される特許情報の取得・活用の能力獲得を目的とする。
本授業では、まず、特許制度の仕組みや主要なルールについて理解し、特許調査がどのような場面でなぜ必要となるのかを学ぶ。その後、特許検索の具体的な手法を学び、演習問題を解きながら、実践的な特許調査の技術および基礎的な知財戦略の立案能力を獲得する。なお、本授業では、企業経営と特許情報とのかかわり等の近時のトピックスにも触れる予定である。
In this class, students will first learn about the relationship between the patent system and the realization of inventions into products and services. Obtaining and utilizing patent information is required in various situations, such as analyzing information for new research and development, obtaining strong and broad patent rights, warning suspected infringers of patent rights, and avoiding infringement of patent rights. The purpose of this class is to help students understand the structure of the patent system and acquire the ability to obtain and utilize patent information.
In this class, students will first understand the structure of the patent system and its major rules, and learn when and why patent searches are necessary. After that, students will learn specific methods of patent search and acquire practical patent search skills and basic IP strategy planning skills by working on exercises. This class will also cover recent topics such as the relationship between corporate management and patent information.
