本授業では「記憶と社会」をテーマとして、各グループが設定した課題について、仙台市内でのフィールドワークやインタビューをもとに考察する。インタビューは多様な学問分野で広く活用される研究手法でありながら、学ぶ機会が乏しいことから、本授業でその実施方法の初歩的な訓練を行う。また授業を通して、社会の中から自ら課題を発見し考察する、文系・理系ともに必要な学問の基礎的な力を養う。
わたしたちが普段何気なく過ごしている社会は、様々な記憶と関連して成り立っている。記憶は個人のアイデンティティを形成すると同時に、個人と社会を繋ぐ役割を果たしてきた。このため歴史学や社会学においては「集合的記憶」や「社会的記憶」といった概念が提示され、社会と記憶の関係が分析されている。本授業では受講生が自ら設定した問題関心について（例：戦争の記憶、街の記憶、故郷の記憶、記念碑に込められた記憶など）、仙台市内でフィールドワークを行い、既存の概念を参照しつつ具体的な事例からその問題を論じる。講義は最初の2回行い、歴史学とオーラルヒストリーにおける記憶に関する議論を紹介したのち、フィールドワークの基本的な注意事項を共有した上で、調査を開始する。テーマ設定やインタビュー対象の選定、フィールドワークの中間報告をしてもらい、参加者とともに議論することで、内容を修正しつつ進め、最終報告までつくりあげていく。
In this class, with the theme of "Memory and Society," each group will discuss the issues which they have set, based on fieldwork and interviews in Sendai City. Interviews are a research method widely used in various academic fields, but there are few opportunities to learn it, so this class will provide elementary training on how to conduct interviews. Students will also develop the basic academic skills to discover and consider issues in society on their own.
The society in which we spend our daily lives is made up of a variety of memories. Memories form the identity of individuals, and at the same time, they have played a role in connecting individuals and society. For this reason, concepts such as "collective memory" and "social memory" have been proposed in history and sociology to analyze the relationship between society and memory. The first two lectures will be given to introduce the discussion on memory in historiography and oral history, and then basic precautions for fieldwork will be shared before the research begins.
地理学の研究手法においてフィールドワークはことさら重要視されている。現地に実際に赴き，現地の声や情報を収集することは，その場所や土地を理解する上で極めて重要な研究活動であろう。他方，その労力に見合う研究成果が得られたかは現地でデータを収集する段階あるいはデータを分析する段階にならないと判断できないこともあり，フィールドワークの難しさも同時に存在する。本講義では，地理学におけるフィールドワークについて多面的に学ぶ。また，フィールドワークの重要性が声高に叫ばれる一方，フィールドワークの手法に関わる議論がなおざりにされていないだろうか。本講義では，地理学以外の学問分野からの視点も紹介しながら，フィールドワークに関する理解を深めたい。
Fieldwork is one of the most important research methods in geography. Visiting a place and collecting local voices and data is an extremely important research activity for understanding the place and land. On the other hand, fieldwork is also difficult because it is not always possible to determine whether the research results are sufficient for the effort of fieldwork until the stage of collecting or analyzing data in the field. In this lecture, we will learn about fieldwork in geography from various aspects. While the importance of fieldwork has been emphasized, the discussion on the methods of fieldwork has been overlooked. We will deepen our understanding of fieldwork by introducing perspectives from other academic disciplines.
実証科学の方法の一つであるフィールドワークは、多様な場面で活用できる便利かつ優秀な調査研究ツールである。教育研究の手法としてはもちろんのこと、各自のプライベートにおいても、社会人としての仕事においても、さまざまに応用が利く。しかし、そのやり方はただ講義を聞くだけでは習得することが難しい。そこで、この授業では、フィールドワークの基本を学びながら自らも現場で体験してみることにより、自分で実際に使えるツールとして身につけることを目指す。
Fieldwork, one of the methods of empirical science, is a convenient and excellent survey and research tool that can be used in a variety of situations. It can be applied not only as a method of education and research, but also in one's personal life and work as a member of society. However, it is difficult to learn how to do this by simply listening to lectures. Therefore, in this class, we will learn the basics of fieldwork, and by experiencing it in the field ourselves, we will aim to acquire tools that we can actually use ourselves.
In this PBL course, groups of Japanese and international students will be provided with opportunities to conduct research and give proposals on promotion of DEI (diversity, equity and inclusion) on university campus. Students will deepen their understanding of minorities in Japanese society and Tohoku University's policy of promoting DEI, and conduct their own research projects to identify problems through interviews, surveys and literature reviews, and propose how we can promote DEI campuses. This class incorporates intercultural co-learning methods where students from different backgrounds will collaborate on the projects.
この授業は、留学生と日本人学生のグループが大学キャンパスのDEIを進めるための調査・提案を行うPBL型授業である。日本社会におけるマイノリティや東北大学のDEI推進方針に関する理解を深め、インタビューやサーベイ、文献レビューなどの調査プロジェクトを通じて課題を発見し、どのようにDEIなキャンパス作りを推進していけるのかを検討・提案する。本授業は、留学生と国内の学生が共に学ぶ国際共修授業で英語を主要言語とする。
私たちの社会は、自然災害の多発化や被害の激甚化・多様化によって、災害といかに共生するかが重要な課題となりつつあります。その際参考になるのが、過去の災害における被災や復興の経験です。
とくに東日本大震災の被災地では、「自分と同じ目にあってほしくない」といった思いから、被災や復興の経験を伝承し、発信する取り組みが活発に行われてきました。しかしながら被災地の現状をみると、時間の経過とともに記憶の風化や被災者の高齢化が進んでおり、現在進行形で復興の課題も存在しています。
そこでこの授業では、東日本大震災の被災地が経験してきた課題について学ぶとともに、それらを伝承・発信する企画を計画し、災害と共生する社会づくりに寄与することを目的とします。
対象地域は、東日本大震災の津波被災地、福島第一原発事故被災地などを予定しています。
How to coexist with disasters is becoming an important issue in our society as natural disasters become more frequent and the damage more severe and multilayered, In this context, the experiences of past disasters and recovery efforts can be helpful.
Particularly in the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake, there have been active efforts to pass on and disseminate the experiences of the disaster and recovery, because people do not want others to suffer the same fate as they did. However, looking at the current situation in the affected areas, as time goes by, memories are fading and those who survived the disaster are getting older, and there are still ongoing reconstruction issues.
Therefore, the purpose of this class is to learn about the issues that the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake have experienced and to plan a project to pass on and disseminate these experiences, thereby contributing to the creation of a society that can live in harmony with disasters.
The target areas will include the areas affected by the Great East Japan Earthquake and Tsunami, and the areas affected by the Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Plant accident.
この授業では、行動科学の研究に必要なリテラシーを身につけることを目指す。このリテラシーとは、文献探索、スライド作成、論文・レポートの作成技術を指す。また、社会科学の中で行動科学と連携が期待される質的調査の技法についても取り扱う。
The aims of this course is to provide students with the literacy necessary to conduct research of the behavioral sciences. This literacy refers to the techniques of reference search, preparation, and writing papers and reports. The course will also deal with qualitative research techniques that are expected to be linked to behavioral science in the social sciences.
