実証科学の方法の一つであるフィールドワークは、多様な場面で活用できる便利かつ優秀な調査研究ツールである。教育研究の手法としてはもちろんのこと、各自のプライベートにおいても、社会人としての仕事においても、さまざまに応用が利く。しかし、そのやり方はただ講義を聞くだけでは習得することが難しい。そこで、この授業では、フィールドワークの基本を学びながら自らも現場で体験してみることにより、自分で実際に使えるツールとして身につけることを目指す。
Fieldwork, one of the methods of empirical science, is a convenient and excellent survey and research tool that can be used in a variety of situations. It can be applied not only as a method of education and research, but also in one's personal life and work as a member of society. However, it is difficult to learn how to do this by simply listening to lectures. Therefore, in this class, we will learn the basics of fieldwork, and by experiencing it in the field ourselves, we will aim to acquire tools that we can actually use ourselves.
現地調査とそれに基づく民族誌の記述は、文化人類学の最も基本的な研究方法である。この授業では、調査の目的の設定や組み立て方を含めた様々な技術・方法を学習し、さらに実地に試行することを通して体験的に習得することを目標とする。後期は各自の立案した調査計画に基づいて調査を行い、その途中経過を授業で討議しながら、それぞれの調査を完結させ、その結果をまとめる。
Fieldwork and ethnographic writing based on field research are the most basic research methods in cultural anthropology. In this class, we will discuss various techniques and methods, including how to set and construct the objectives of fieldwork and acquire them experientially through actual trials. In this semester, students will conduct research based on their own research plans, and complete each research and summarize the results through discussing the progress of the research in this class.

In this class, students learn the basic knowledge and methods of social research, conduct fieldwork (interviews, participant observation, data collection, etc.)

他者の信仰を理解するためには、文字化された資料を扱うのみでは限界があり、フィールドワークに基づき、活きた信仰を解き明かすことが必要である。本授業では、夏季に行われた宗教調査をもとにしてそれのまとめ作業をおこなう。
It is important for students in religious studies to know living religious cultures. This course offers an opportunity for students to experience field research to deepen their understanding of religion.
