The aim of this course is to help students understand how to view the Japanese language analytically for teaching Japanese language and connect this way with Japanese teaching practices.

未調査・未解明で文字を持たない消滅寸前の少数言語、このような世界の言語を対象に、音声から音韻、形態、文の構造まで網羅的に調査・分析する方法を実践的に身につけます。さらに解明したことを言語学上の記号と術語を用いて、専門的かつ体系的に記述する方法を学びます。
理論を用いても説明困難な言語現象をどのように分析・考察しうるか実際のデータを基に検討するほか、記述文法・辞書の作成に至るプロセスを体験し、消滅危機言語のアーカイブ化についても議論します。当講義では、話者4人の言語と話者500人の言語の一次データを扱います。
This course will focus on endangered languages that have not yet been researched. Students will both analyze data and document them using descriptive linguistic methods. The course will also include discussion about how such languages might be archived.
前期、後期の実習を通して、学習者のニーズ・レディネス、置かれている環境などに合わせた日本語コースをデザインし、それぞれの授業で必要な教材・教具を準備して授業を実施する力、そしてその自身の実践を振り返って改善案を考えることができる力を養成することを目的とする。前期は、コースデザインの仕方について学び、後期に実施する東北大留学生向けのコースに関して、彼らのニーズ・レディネス、置かれている環境等を分析して実際にコースデザインをするとともに、そのコースの実際の授業の中でどのような教材・教具を使ってどのように教えるのかを検討する。模擬授業を通して自身の授業デザインや教え方、教材・教具などについて振り返り、改善案を考えることができるようになることを目指す。
Through the teaching practicum in the spring and fall semesters, students will develop the ability to design Japanese language courses that meet the needs and readiness of learners and their learning environment, prepare the necessary teaching materials and equipment for each class, and conduct the class.They can also enhance the ability to look back on their own teaching and make improvements. In the spring semester, students will learn how to design a course, and actually create a course for the international students at Tohoku University based on the analysis of the needs, readiness, and environment of them, and consider how to teach using teaching materials and tools in actual classes of the course. Through mock classes, students will be able to reflect on their own class design, teaching methods, teaching materials and tools, etc., and come up with ideas for improvement.

この授業では、日本語教育におけるフィールドワークの研究計画の作成、データ収集の方法（インタビュー、観察）について学びます。夏季休業中にデータ収集を行い、後期に開講される「日本語教育におけるフィールドワークⅡ」で分析、論文の執筆について学びます。
This course helps students make research proposal of fieldwork in the area of Japanese language learning and collect qualitative data (interview and observation). The students will collect data during their summer vication, analyze it, and write up a mini-paper in the "Fieldwork in Japanese Language Learning Ⅱ"
