ヨーロッパ、およびアメリカの文学・歴史・社会・文化を研究対象とする学生の修士論文作成に向け、受講生が研究報告をおこない、その報告に関する質疑応答や意見交換を出席者全員でおこなう。
In this course the students will make presentations on their research topics, one or a couple of students per week, and the others will discuss them. Thereby the students will acquire the necessary skills to conduct research in European and American studies and to present the results.
３年生は前期に引き続き論文紹介を行いそれを卒業論文にどう繋げるかを発表するか、卒業論文の構想を発表する。これにより、卒業論文作成のための知識ならびに方法をさらに深く身につけることを目的とする。
4年生は卒業論文の進捗状況を中間発表する。テーマの選択や先行研究のまとめだけでなく、データ収集・調査・実験等の実施方法、分析手法、予想される結果と意義、およびその時点までに得られた暫定的な結果とその解釈などについて、できるだけ具体的に発表する。
その日の発表者以外の参加者は、他者の発表を聴き、ディスカッションに参加することによって、言語学の多様なアプローチへの理解を深めるとともに、論文を書くための方法を学びとる。
In this course third year students will deliver an oral presentation of a journal article of their own choice, while fourth year students an interim report of their thesis. Oral presentations will be followed by a discussion among the participants.
1. An oral presentation should adequately cover the aim, data, method, results, discussion and conclusion of the article/thesis.
2. Participants should seek to gain acquaintance with various fields of linguistic studies and to participate in the discussion in order to help the presenter to improve their presentation.
