The purpose of this course is to acquire basic knowledge of economic theory to analyze environmental issues.
Environmental economics is one of the applied fields of microeconomics. Therefore, knowledge of microeconomics is assumed in the lectures. 講義ノート1-5.PDF is attached for review of microeconomics. Those who have forgotten or have never studied microeconomics should read them before the course.
This course applies standard microeconomic theory and concepts to understand the role of environmental policy. The students should have completed Calculus and microeconomics courses of advanced undergrad level before taking this class.

第二次世界大戦後、経済活動の与件としての「カネ」「ヒト」「モノ」の流動性が一層激しくなってきており、グローバル化が急速に進んでいる。大きな変貌を遂げている国際関係に関して、学問的にさまざまな視点－例えば、世界システム論、国際レジーム論、相互依存論等－から捉えられている。この講義において、国際関係の歴史、国際関係理論、諸国家間の環境政策の相違、国際機構の在り方など、様々なイシューに関する、分析手法、到達点と問題点についての解説を行う。この講義を通して、現代国際社会の複雑で多様な現実問題を解き明かすための先端的な知識と分析手法を理解する。
Since the end of WWII, economic globalization has been progressing with the rapid rise of the mobility of 'money', 'human beings' and 'goods'. This process has increasingly affected international relations, and interactions between politics and economics are being accelerated as a result. This class will provide students with three analytical frameworks in order to understand the following aspects of international relations: International History, International Relations and International Environmental Policy. Students are requested to cultivate capacities to analyze contemporary political and economic affairs and thereby to demonstrate to the society the perspectives and analytical methods with which to resolve accumulating problems in the contemporary world.

社会基盤計画や交通・都市・地域計画の立案・分析・評価の際には，空間経済システムのモデリングとそれに基づく計量的分析が欠かせない．本講義は，そのための基本的な枠組みとシステマテックな分析の方法論を提供する．より具体的には，まず，交通・通信ネットワーク・フロー（授業計画の第Ⅱ部），および立地・土地利用現象（授業計画の第Ⅲ部）に対する標準的な均衡モデルを紹介し，それらが，ポテンシャル・ゲームや変分不等式問題として統一的に表現できることを示す．そして，その枠組みを用いたモデル特性の解析や計算アルゴリズム開発の系統的な方法が示される．さらに，これらのモデルを一般化した集団ゲーム（Population Game）の枠組みと変分不等式問題の関係や，進化ゲーム・ダイナミクスに基づく均衡解の安定性について（授業計画の第Ⅳ部）議論する．

Modeling and quantitative analysis of spatial economic systems are indispensable for planning, analysis, and evaluation of infrastructure systems. This lecture provides the basic framework and systematic methodology for this purpose. We will first introduce standard equilibrium models for transportation/communication networks and urban land use, which can be expressed in a unified manner as potential games and variational inequality problems (VIPs). Systematic methods for analyzing model properties and developing computational algorithms will then be presented. Furthermore, the relationship between the VIPs and the theory of population game and evolutionary game dynamics will be discussed.

This class also provides basic causal inference and microeconometrics methods used in recent health economics studies.
