Microeconomics II

This course consists of two parts. Part I covers the basics of game theory. Part II familiarizes students with the basic concepts, models, and methods in information economics, studying the effects of information asymmetries on economic outcomes.
The objective of the course is to provide the basic microeconomic tools to be used in the analysis of problems of resource allocation by economists working in research, in business, or in various organizations. It includes recent advances in the theory and aims at developing the capacity to apply economic concepts to real-world problems.
Week 1-2: Social Choice and Welfare (Chapter 6)
Week 3-5: Game Theory (Chapter 7)
Week 6-8: Imperfect Competition (Chapter 4.2)
Week 9-11: Information Economics (Chapter 8)
Week 12-14: Auctions and Mechanism Design (Chapter 9)
Final test (60%).
Homework and practice session (40%).
