授業の目的と概要/Object and summary of class

This seminar's theme is to explore theories and empirics in development economics, with a focus on various topics including poverty, inequality, population, urbanization, human capital, agriculture and environment, and institutions in developing countries.

学習の到達目標/Goal of study

The purpose of this seminar is to provide students with a deeper understanding of the economic challenges faced by developing countries and to explore potential policy solutions for promoting economic development and poverty reduction.

授業内容・方法と進度予定/Contents and progress schedule of the class

For third-year students:
April to September: Engage in group reading of texts on econometrics, initiate exploration of topics of interest, and start learning quantitative software (joint seminar).
October to January: Read academic papers, decide topics of interest, gather data accordingly, and start empirical analysis.

For fourth-year students:
April to September: Prepare papers for presentation in seminars.
October to January: Participate in seminars, revise, and finalize papers based on feedback received during seminars.
