This is practical course of petrography. Through the polarizing microscope observation, we understand the identification of rock-forming minerals and the classification of igneous rocks.

This is practical course of petrography. Through the polarizing microscope observation, we understand the identification of rock-forming minerals and the classification of igneous rocks.
This is practical course of petrography after Laboratory course on Earth and Planetary Materials Science I. Through the microscope observations of various rock thin sections, we understand the diversity of rocks on the earth.

This is practical course of petrography after Petrology of Crust-Forming Rocks (Laboratory Work) I. Through the microscope observations of various rock thin sections, we understand the diversity of rocks on the earth.

Lectures on fundamental theories of structural geology and crustal deformation unifying the field observation and laboratory experiments toward comprehensive understanding on the basic knowledge in this field.
Since minerals are the basic building unit of earth materials, this course is designed to give the student mineralogy and crystallography, necessary to understand processes. Student will learn the basic principles behind the arrangement of atoms to form crystal structures, how these atoms are coordinated and bonded and how this is reflected in the external form, chemical composition, and physical properties of the crystals.
