1. Object
Analytical chemistry is a discipline to construct methods for chemical analysis aimed at identification and quantification of substances. In this lecture, we learn methods to describe chemical equilibria in aqueous solutions in quantitative fashions.
2. Summary
To gain ability to describe chemical equilibria in solution, we learn chemical stoichiometry, mass and charge balances, and equilibrium constants through application to examples such as acid-base, complexation, redox, and precipitation.
3. Goal
You are expected
1. to estimate concentration of species in equilibria through equations of mass and charge balances and definition of equilibrium constants.
2. to set conditions to design chemical analysis on the basis of equilibria.
