経済史学は、異なる地域の経済発展過程を比較する視点を内包している。アダム・スミスやF・ブローデル、D・ノースといった著名な学者らは、優れた比較経済史の論者としても知られている。比較の視点は、後発工業国の経済発展の分析や、先進国間の歴史的な違いを探究する際にも、その効果を発揮する。例えば、どの国でも都市は最も進んだ経済活動の中心地であるが、都市化の過程は国によって異なっている。そのため、都市の比較史を通じて、経済を支える固有の制度や社会的価値観を明らかにすることが可能になる。本講義では、こうした比較史の利点を最大限活用し、長期の西欧経済史について概説を行う。受講者は、自国の経済との類似点・相違点についての理解を深め、社会的な質の観点から経済力を相対的に評価する能力を身に付けることが期待される。

本講義では、偏った経済学的思考に陥らない"pluralist economics"の精神を尊重しつつ、欧米と同じ自由市場経済体制下にある日本経済の行く末を見据える上で欠かせない基礎的知識の習得を目指す。

Approximately 100 years behind the developed country of Britain, the late-industrializing country of Japan also experienced its first industrial revolution in Asia, thereby joining the ranks of developed countries by the early 20th century. In addition to the ‘first industrialized country’ in the region, there are striking similarities in the economic histories of Britain and Japan. For instance, just as the Japanese economy prospered from cultural exchanges with Western countries, the British economy was also supported by its interactions with Asian countries. The point at which the economy improved during the run-up to the industrial revolution can also be said to be a common feature between the two countries.

The purpose of finding similarities in the different economies is ultimately to highlight their ‘differences’. According to the latest research, it has become clear that a typical example separating the history of the two countries lies in the process of urbanisation leading to a modern economy. Towns and cities serve as vibrant economic hubs that laid the groundwork for contemporary society. The disparities in their development hint at a potentially insurmountable divide between the fundamental political and social values bolstering seemingly identical advanced economies. This lecture series will delve into an examination of the significant historical differences between the two leading economies, respectively representing the West and the East.

現代文学の源流としての中世ドイツ文学の歴史を知るとともにその特殊性を理解する。

現代文学において恋愛がテーマになるのは珍しいことではないが、ドイツ文学史において恋愛が主題になったのは12世紀であった。それ以前のドイツ文学の主題はキリスト教であった。ただし、12世紀に恋愛が主題とされた場合に雛形となったのはキリスト教の神への信仰であったので、その恋愛は崇高な愛の形をとった。しかしそのような高貴な愛も騎士文化の衰退と市民社会の興隆とともに通俗化する。授業では、恋愛のほかに北欧伝説との関係も見ながら、中世ドイツ文学の流れを社会の変動も踏まえながら考察したい。

In diesem Seminar handelt es sich um die Geschichte der deutschen mittelalterlichen Literartur als Quelle der modernen Literatur und um ihre Eigenschaften.

In der modernen Literatur ist nicht selten die Liebe das Thema, aber die Liebe wurde erst im 12. Jahrhundert theamatisiert, das Thema davor war am meisten das Christentum. Die literarische Liebe basierte sich aber auch auf dem Glauben an den Gott, die Liebe zwischen Menschen war also erhaben. Solche hohe Liebe wurde aber allmählig säkularisiert, indem die ritterliche Kultur verfiel und die bürgeliche Geschellschaft sich erhebte. In dem Seminar soll also auch berücksichtig werden, dass die Teilnehmer sich mit der Kultur und Gesellschaft im Mittelalter vertraut machen und gelegentlich auch bessere Kenntnisse über den Zusammenhang mit der nordischen Legenden erwerben können.

目的：日本の建築・都市の歴史をさまざまな観点から理解する。

概要：私たちをとりまく都市・建築は、どのようにつくられ、使われ、意味を帯びてきたのか。この講義では、古代から近代以前における日本建築の歴史を考える。そのさい、建造物の意匠や空間、構造、さらにはそれらをつくりだした理念や社会背景など、様々な視点から多角的に、かつ東アジアとの文化的な対外交渉関係をふまえながら検討してゆく。

達成目標等：日本建築の歴史的変遷を理解し、文化の特質について考える。

・ スライドと配付資料を適宜活用した講義形式で進める。

This lecture aims to understand the history of Japanese architecture from various viewpoints.

The primary goal of this lecture is to review Japanese architecture from Ancient Times to the Modern age from various viewpoints such as design, technique, idea, and social background based on a cultural relation with East Asia.

・The lecture will be conducted in a lecture format using slides and handouts.

・The distribution of handouts and notifications will be made via Google Classroom in advance.
