The constitution of the World Health Organization (WHO) in 1946 rose the term of 'Health' as a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. This course will introduce you to the world of well-being as it has been discussed in the various viewpoints. The second half of this course may include the study of 'well-being during the mass crisis' such as, natural disaster and pandemic diseases as a part of my current research studies. During the class students can discuss how their research related to the concept of well-being (or others current topics).

実生活場面で見られる様々な場面を心理学の視点からみるとどのようにとらえられるのか、また心理学の知識を修得しておけば、実生活でどのように有利なのか、などについて学ぶ。
This class offers you to study psychology with psychological phenomena in your daily lives. The topics will be broad from "seeing ghosts" to "why we do not want to eat bugs". The approaches are mainly knowledge based on the experimental psychology.
災害は、多くの生命が危険に晒され、甚大な健康被害を受ける。恐怖からの自由、欠乏からの自由、尊厳ある人生を実現するヒューマンセキュリティ（人間の安全保障）にとって大きな脅威である。その予防と被害の減少が防災であり、2015年に締結された仙台防災枠組では、『健康』を守ることの大切さが大きく取り入れられた。本講座では、マルチハザード、災害におけるこころとからだの健康被害をキーワードに、災害に対する保健・医療・福祉に関する備え、対応、復旧、復興の現状と問題点を明らかにする。

In disaster, many lives are in danger and a huge amount of health crises will threaten human security, i.e. freedom from fear, freedom from want, and freedom of life with dignity. Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030 is the ongoing international framework. Sendai Framework focuses on “health” more than previous frameworks. Multi-hazard approach and physical and mental health damage in disaster are keywords. This course is aiming to clarify the current situation and gaps in medical and public health preparedness, response, recovery, and reconstruction in disaster.
量的方法論による心理学研究の方法論的基礎となる測定法の理論について基礎から学ぶ。古典的テスト理論（Classical Test Theory）と項目反応理論（Item Response Theory）を対比しながら、理念的な理解を深める。オーソドックスな輪講形式の演習スタイルを基本とするが，受講者の人数や希望によっては発展的な内容を加えたり，受講者が現在取り組んでいる研究を題材として取り交ぜる可能性も考慮する。時折、教科書の例題を基にレポートを課す可能性ががある。
英語論文の理解と執筆のために標準的な英語のテキストを選定しているが、受講者の希望によっては変更も可とする。
This class is aimed to learn the fundamentals the theory of measurement method which is the methodological basis of psychology research by quantitative methodology. The lecturer expect students' understanding will be deepened by comparing classical test theory with Item Response Theory. Although it is based on an orthodox seminar style, it is also possible to add an advanced content or a theme of the studies currently being tackled, depending on the number and attendees of students. There is also the possibility of requesting a report based on exercises in the textbook. The lecturer chose a standard English textbook for understanding and writing English papers, but we can change it depending on the student's request.
心理学は心の仕組み，働き方を実証的に調べていく学問領域である。とはいえ心は目に見えるわけでもなければ，聴くことも，触ることもできない。それにもかかわらず心理学が現在に至るまで発展してきたのは，先人らが巧妙に計画した実証的研究によって心を詳らかにしてきたからである。本講義では，心の諸相について実際の具体的な研究例を紹介しながら幅広く体系的に学習していく。
Psychology is the empirical research area to investigate the mechanisms and functions of the mind. However, we cannot see, hear or touch the mind directly. Nevertheless, psychology develops based on brilliant findings by well-planned research to titillate the invisible mind. This course provides many examples of psychological research for the many facets of the mind to help students deepen their understanding of psychology.
具体的な研究事例に触れながら，感情と人格について総合的に学ぶ。
なお，本科目は公認心理師必修科目「感情・人格心理学」に対応している。

The lecture provides an overview of how perception, cognition, emotion, decision-making, and sociality have been investigated in psychology by introducing and demonstrating many representative experiments and interesting psychological phenomena.
