This course delves into the overview and utilization of the intellectual property rights system, encompassing industrial property rights. Moreover, it addresses intellectual property valuation, the utilization of industrial property data, and recent trends in intellectual property rights from a pragmatic perspective.

The objective of this course is to equip students with practical foundational knowledge regarding intellectual property and intellectual property rights.

Upon completion of the course, participants are expected to grasp the fundamental principles of industrial property laws, comprehend the standard methodologies for evaluating intellectual property, and discern the process of acquiring and leveraging industrial property rights data.

本授業において履修生は、特許・実用新案・意匠・商標制度の概要、知財情報検索の基礎、企業や大学における知的財産の保護・活用の重要性について学ぶ。

The objective of this course is to acquire basic knowledge and skills related to IP management and IP strategy that engineers, researchers, IP professionals, and legal professionals in companies and universities should have in common.

In this class, students will learn the overview of the patent, utility model, design, and trademark systems, the basics of IP information search, and the importance of protection and utilization of intellectual property in companies and universities.

 特許制度と社会実装との関係について理解した上で、新規の研究開発に向けた情報分析、強くて広い特許権の取得、特許権の被疑侵害者への対応、特許権侵害の回避といったさまざまな場面で要求される特許情報の取得・活用の能力獲得を目的とする。

  本授業では、まず、特許制度の仕組みや主要なルールについて理解し、特許調査がどのような場面でなぜ必要となるのかを学ぶ。その後、特許検索の具体的な手法を学び、演習問題を解きながら、実践的な特許調査の技術および基礎的な知財戦略の立案能力を獲得する。なお、本授業では、企業経営と特許情報とのかかわり等の近時のトピックスにも触れる予定である。

 In this class, students will first learn about the relationship between the patent system and the realization of inventions into products and services. Obtaining and utilizing patent information is required in various situations, such as analyzing information for new research and development, obtaining strong and broad patent rights, warning suspected infringers of patent rights, and avoiding infringement of patent rights. The purpose of this class is to help students understand the structure of the patent system and acquire the ability to obtain and utilize patent information.

  In this class, students will first understand the structure of the patent system and its major rules, and learn when and why patent searches are necessary. After that, students will learn specific methods of patent search and acquire practical patent search skills and basic IP strategy planning skills by working on exercises. This class will also cover recent topics such as the relationship between corporate management and patent information.

The objective of this course is to acquire basic knowledge and skills related to IP management and IP strategy that engineers, researchers, IP professionals, and legal professionals in companies and universities should have in common.

In this class, students will learn an overview of copyright and other IP systems, basic knowledge of treaties necessary for obtaining IP rights abroad, basics of IP-related licenses, roles of IP specialists, and the relationship between business and IP strategies.

１． 目的

 今日、私たちの生活はデジタルデバイスによって劇的に変革されており、その中心に位置するのが半導体技術です。この授業を受講することで、半導体技術の中核的な役割と、それが国家間の競争や戦略においてどのように位置づけられているのかを深く理解することができます。さらに、技術のみならず、知的財産という別の視点からも、技術者としてのキャリアを考える上での知識を獲得することを目的としています。

２．概要

 産業界の最前線で活躍する半導体の専門家をゲスト講師として招聘します。講師の経験や知識を通じて、半導体技術の最新の動向や研究テーマについて直接学ぶことができる貴重な時間となるでしょう。また、基本的な知的財産の概念や、それがビジネスや研究開発の現場でどのように取り扱われるのかという実務に関する話も取り上げます。この授業は、半導体技術の将来的な進展や、技術を取り巻く環境や戦略についての多角的な視点を提供し、学生の皆さんが次世代の技術リーダーとして活躍するためのスキルを磨く手助けとなることを期待しています。

1. Object

Today, our lives are being dramatically transformed by digital devices, and semiconductor technology is at the center of this transformation. By taking this class, you will gain a deep understanding of the core role of semiconductor technology and how it is positioned in national competition and strategy. Furthermore, the course aims to help students acquire knowledge not only about technology, but also about intellectual property, another perspective from which to consider a career as an engineer.

2. Summary

 We will invite semiconductor experts who are active on the front lines of industry as guest lecturers. Through their experience and knowledge, you will have an invaluable opportunity to learn firsthand about the latest trends and research topics in semiconductor technology. We will also cover basic intellectual property concepts and practical discussions on how they are handled in business and R&D. We hope that this class will provide students with a multifaceted perspective on future developments in semiconductor technology, the environment and strategies surrounding the technology, and help them hone their skills to become the next generation of technology leaders.

3. Goal

 In this course, the main objectives are to acquire the following abilities.

(1) Acquisition of fundamental knowledge of semiconductor technology

Possess a deep understanding of the basic concepts of semiconductor technology and its development.

(2) Acquisition of a realistic viewpoint of the field

To acquire knowledge of experiences and issues at the forefront of industry, and to enhance problem-solving skills from a practical perspective.

Understand the basic concepts and practical flow of intellectual property related to semiconductor technology and recognize its importance in technological development and business situations.
