本講義の目的は、私達が工学者として広い視野から未来を考えるための機会を提供することである。産業革命以来の工学分野の発展は日々加速されており、私たちの日常生活も急激な変化にさらされている。しかし、そのような変化に目を奪われてしまうと、私たちは科学･技術が本来目指しているはずの人々の幸福の増進という目標を見失いかねない。本講義では、工学と社会の接点を、生命との関わりの中で見直してみる。それは、現代の工学が「生命」と直接的・間接的に触れ合う領域に至っているからである。医療・食料などの分野に工学が関わるとき、ヒトや他の生物の生死に直接影響を与える場面に直面する。物資やエネルギーの大量消費に起因する環境問題が、私たち生物の生存を脅かす可能性は小さくない。このような問題を広く考えるために、工学、医療、福祉など様々な分野から講師を招き、講演・討論を行う。また研究倫理・技術者倫理に関係する課題について、グループワーク（調査・考察）を行い、結果の発表と討論を行う機会を設ける。

The purpose of this lecture is to provide an opportunity for students as engineers to think about the future from a broad perspective. Industry development since the Industrial Revolution has been accelerating day by day, and our daily lives are also undergoing rapid changes. However, if we are blinded by such changes, we may lose sight of the goal that science and technology should originally aim at the promotion of people's happiness. In this course, we will review the interface between engineering and society in relation to life. This is because modern engineering has reached the realm of direct and indirect contact with “life”. When engineering is involved in fields such as medicine and food, it is confronted with situations that directly affect the life and death of humans and other living organisms. There is no small possibility that environmental problems resulting from the massive consumption of materials and energy will threaten the survival of our living organisms. To broadly consider these issues, lecturers from various fields such as engineering, medicine, and welfare will be invited to give lectures and hold discussions. In addition, there will be the opportunity for group work (investigation and discussion) on issues related to research ethics and engineering ethics, with presentation and discussion of results.

To realize Human Security, i.e., freedom from fear, freedom from want, and freedom to live with dignity, students will learn its general concept, history, the current situation, and related frameworks and understand the current situation of global health, the role of health cluster and discuss on the problem solution.
This is a course designed for beginners in human medical research and those seeking to strengthen their academic writing skills in the field. Throughout this course, students will study the basic concepts of research in medical science, systematic reviews, and how to formulate research questions. By becoming familiar with study design in epidemiology, statistical methods, and academic writing, students will be able to present a study proposal at the end of the course. This course focuses on quantitative research involving human subjects. However, it is open to students conducting basic science or qualitative studies. Additionally, we welcome Japanese students who wish to engage in scientific discourse with international students.

１．小児看護の対象である子供の健康と病気を理解するために，子供の最大の特徴である成長と発達について学習し，あわせて小児看護の主題と理念を学ぶ。
２．子供の健康に関する動向と保健対策，疾病や障害を持つ子供と健康な子供に共通した日常生活の援助方法について具体的に学ぶ。また，子供のQuality of Life（QOL）を支援する原理となる子供の権利条約について学び，子供の人権擁護の具体的方法について学習する。
３．子供の疾病について学んだ後に，子供の入院や職種間連携と看護職者の役割について学習し，その後，看護診断と援助に必要な知識・理論・援助方法について学習する。
