This course aims to improve students’ ability in reading Chinese and approaching linguistic research questions about modern Mandarin Chinese. Also, students are required to find a certain topic related to the articles we read in class and write a report accordingly in the end of the semester. In the end of this course, students will gain knowledge about modern Chinese linguistics and learn how to apply some of the basic research techniques when writing a report.

【目的】中国語学習歴１年以上（中国語を母語とする者を除く）の受講生を対象に、中国語のより高度な読解能力を身につけてもらうことを目的として開講します。
【概要】現代中国語で書かれた随筆や短編小説を取り上げて精読します。それを通して、受講生が、これまでに学んできた中国語の基礎的な文法事項について再確認し、中国文化への理解を深めるとともに、中国語発音のブラッシュアップができるよう促します。授業ではテキストを輪番で音読し、読解しますので、受講生の十分な予習が求められます。なお、この授業は、中国語の講読演習を兼ねています。
【Course Objectives】
This course aims to further improve the students' ability to read contemporary Chinese texts.
【Course Synopsis】
In this course, students read essays or short stories written in modern Chinese. Through reading, students review basic Chinese grammar, deepen knowledge about Chinese culture, and improve Chinese pronunciation. In every class, students are required to read aloud and translate the text into Japanese, therefore sufficient preparation is important.
初級クラスで学習した中国語の語彙と基礎文法をベースに、使える表現を増やし、中級レベルの作文力を身につけることを目的とする。基礎文型の復習をしながら、身近な話題で中国語の作文を書く練習をする。中国語らしい表現を体得し、中国語での発信力を磨く。
This course is designed for those students who have already completed the learning at the beginner's level and acquired the basic knowledge of Mandarin Chinese pronunciation and grammar. The purpose of this course is to help students improve their writing ability to reach the intermediate level. Along with reviewing basic sentence patterns, students practice writing on familiar topics in Chinese. Through this process, students will become familiar with natural Mandarin Chinese expressions and be able to express themselves better in Mandarin Chinese.
