卒業論文作成の前段階として、受講生がそれぞれ自分の興味を持ったテーマについて、従来の代表的な研究や主要な史料を紹介する。また発表の準備を通じて、文献検索の方法や辞書等の使い方を学ぶとともに、そのテーマをめぐって研究史上どのような問題が残されているかを考える。発表後は、その内容について演習参加者が討論を行う。発表者にはそれぞれコメンテーターを付ける。参加者には積極的な発言を期待する。
