日本の農業・農村の様々な問題を把握するためには、個別農業経営の展開のみならず、農業生産組織や集落営農、農業改良普及センター、農業協同組合、土地改良区、農業共済組合などといった地域農業の支援組織の役割や機能を理解する必要がある。この講義では、それら農村地域組織の歴史的展開、機能、役割について解説するとともにそれぞれの組織が抱える改題について議論する。
It is necessary for finding out Japanese agricultural and rural subjects to understand not only developments of each farm management but also roles and functions of regional supporting organizations as an agricultural production organization, a community based group farming, an agricultural improvement and extension center, an agricultural cooperatives, a land improvement association, an agricultural mutual aid association. In this course, their historical development, functions and roles are lectured.

In this course, reconstruction concept from great disaster will be discussed, and reconstruction planning, recovery process of agricultural land, diffusion process of innovative technology and so on lectured.

草食動物は栄養源として植物の茎葉を利用することができる。我々は草食動物のそうした能力を利用し、穀類の生産が不可能な土地で草食家畜を通して食糧生産を行ってきた。近年，安定的かつ安全に食料を供給するという観点から，我が国の集約畜産においても飼料の自給が喫急の課題となっている。本講義では，草地の成立と生産力について学習し、次いで家畜への飼料価値と消化性、ならびに家畜による放牧利用について学習する。さらには、エネルギーバイオマス生産や野生生物揺籃の場といった草地の多面的機能についても学習する。
Herbivore animals can use leaves and stems of plants as nutrient source. By using this chracteristics of herbivore animals, human being has been producing animal foodstuff in land areas where are not suitable for grain production. Recently, self-supply of forages arises as urgent issue in intensive livestock production systems in Japan, in terms of stable and safe food supply. In this course, students firstly learn about establishment and productivity of pastures and grasslands, then feed value, digestibility and grazing by animals. In additoin, students learn about biomass production as energy resource and multi-functions of grasslands such as habitat of wild animals.
農業は土地利用型産業であり、広い地表面を使用して農作物の栽培をしている。農業環境および農作物の生育状況把握を効率良く行なうのに広域資源調査の手法が期待されており、そのためには空間情報科学の知識が必要とされる。空間情報科学に深くかかわる衛星リモートセンシング技術および地理情報システム(GIS)について理解する。
コンピュータを用いた画像解析をおこなう。
Agriculture is a land use type industry and cultivates crops using a wide ground area. Spatial information science has an important role to manage the wide area. Students will learn about spatial information science including satellite remote sensing technology and geographical information system (GIS).
This course includs practical study using personal computer.

Agricultural policies and systems around the world are diverse. In this class, it is compared the policies and systems of major advanced agricultural countries and explained the characteristics of agricultural management under them.

農業に関わる経済政策は多岐にわたり、それぞれの政策はその時点の日本経済の状況を反映するとともに、利害を有する諸主体の動向も大きな影響を及ぼす。それゆえ、個々の政策が必ずしも経済学的に見て合理的なものになるとは限らない。本講義では、戦後日本の農業政策の展開過程および現在の政策体系をとりあげ、背景・問題点を考察する。
Decision making of agricultural policies are based on not only economic conditions but also interests of many stakeholders. Therefore each policy is not always reasonable from perspective of economics. In this subject, we examine backgrounds and problems of Japanese agricultural policy after WWII.
本授業では、学生による資源環境経済を対象とした発表をもとに質疑応答をおこない、課題や方法論についての整理を行うことにより論文作成の方法を習得する。
Every student is requested to give a presentation in the class once or twice per semester. When a student is appointed as a reporter, he or she must prepare a handout of report based on his or her own research topics and their related papers. Presentation is welcomed to have use of slides written by, for instance, Power-point program.
