Practical training and research conducted at a company for around one week to one month in the first-year of masters program. Through this training, students learn how to apply the basic research at university to a real industrial technology setting. Additionally, students gain on-site experience and understand the realities of planning, surveys and research, product development, manufacturing and product management, etc., in companies. It is desirable that all students take this training. One or two credits are given to them according to the content and the period of the training.

博士後期課程の期間中に、日本国内の研究機関や民間企業で実習形式での研究インターンシップ（研修）を行う。本研修を通じて大学における研究や博士の能力を社会で活用する方法を学ぶと共に、企業における製品企画・開発や市場調査、品質管理などを実地に体験し理解する。研修先と本学間で協定書を締結して実施する研究インターンシップが、本科目の対象となる。
During the doctoral program, students will undertake a research internship in the form of practical training at a research institute or private company in Japan. Through this internship, students learn how to utilize their university research and doctoral abilities in society, as well as gain hands-on experience and understanding of product planning and development, market research, and quality control in the corporate. The research internship conducted by concluding an agreement between the training site and the University is the subject of this course.

実質10日間以上（60時間以上）にわたる企業等での就業体験またはボランティア体験について、2単位を授業単位として認める。大まかな流れは以下の通りである。
(1) ４月 履修を希望する学生は、ガイダンスに出席する。
(2) ４月～７月 履修学生は、学部が提供する受入企業等の情報をもとに、あるいはみずから情報を収集して、各自インターンシップに応募し、受入内諾書を得しだい教務係に提出する。
(3) 夏期休業中 履修学生は、実習を行い、実習修了証明書および報告書・評価書（いずれも学部で定めた様式による）を終了後１週間以内に教務係に提出する。
(4) １月 履修学生は、報告会で報告する。
インターンシップまたはボランティアを通じて，大学で学んだ知識が実社会においてどのように役立つかを検討する．
