Solid Earth Physics
固体地球の構造と状態を理解し,それらを物理学に基づいて測定する方法や記述する方法について学習する.
In this course, students will understand the structure and state of the solid earth and learn how to measure and describe them based on the physics.
固体地球の形状の測定方法とその記述方法を理解する.
固体地球の内部構造と状態を推定するための地球物理学的測定方法を理解する.
プレートテクトニクスの視点で固体地球の変動現象を理解する.
火山の噴火に至る過程を理解する.
To understand how to measure the shape of the solid Earth and its description method.
To understand the geophysical measurement method for estimating the internal structure and state of the solid Earth.
To understand the changing phenomena of the solid earth from the viewpoint of the plate tectonics.
To understand the processes that lead to volcanic eruptions.
PCプロジェクターまたはZoomを使用して,概ね,下記の順番で講義を行う予定であるが,場合によっては,一部,順番は入れ替える場合がある.

The lectures will be given in the following order using a PC projector or Zoom, but the order may be changed in some cases.

5. Gravity anomalies and isostasy
6. Seismic-wave velocity distribution in the Earth
7. Density distribution in the Earth
8. Distribution of mechanical quantities in the Earth
9. Earth's magnetic field
10. Temperature distribution in the earth
11. Seafloor spreading theory and plate tectonics
12. Seismic-wave velocity tomography and inland earthquakes
13. Interplate earthquakes and intra-slab earthquakes
14. Magma rising process
15. Mechanisms of volcanic eruptions
出席状況を加味しながら,試験により評価する.たとえすべての講義に出席していても,試験の点数が低ければ単位は取得できないことに注意.
The grades will be evaluated based on the test and attendance. Note that the credit will not be given when the test score is bad even if attendance is 100 %.
教科書は使用せず,講義の際に資料を配布する予定.
さらに詳しく知りたい人のための参考文献等は講義資料に掲載する予定.
The lecture materials will be provided during each lecture. The references will be shown in the lecture materials.
資料は随時配付するので,予習よりも復習に力点を置くこと.
Students should review the lectures carefully.
授業実施方法:基本的に対面だが,希望者が居る場合にはオンラインも併用.
