質的フィールドワーク概論
Methods of Qualitative Fieldwork in Sociology
社会学における質的方法の理論と方法について、より深く学ぶ。参加者はオリジナル教材を読み、資料収集、日常観察、フィールドノーツなどの実践を試みることで、理解を深める。その基礎のうえにたって、モダンバージョンの理論・方法とポストモダンバージョンの理論・方法とのちがいについて学び、新しい基準、倫理なども理解する。
In this course, students will learn methods and theories in sociological qualitative inquiry in deeper meaning, and understand them through reading texts, and some practice of documents collection, observation of everyday life, and writing fieldnotes. On this ground, students will learn the difference between the modern version and the post-modern version of qualitative inquiry, and understand new criteria, ethics, and responsibilities as a researcher.
１）質的研究法の技法、考え方、意義と限界が、より深く理解できるようになる。
２）フィールドワークやインタビューを実践できる必須素養が身につく。
３）調査のモラルと倫理、責任について、より深く考慮できるようになる。
Through this course students will become able to 1) understand methods and theories of qualitative inquiry with their significance and limits in detail, 2) acquire enough knowledge to conduct some fieldwork or interview, and 3) make deeper consideration on morals, ethics and responsibilities as a researcher.

Lectures will be made on following topics, and preparatory readings and some home works are compulsory. In every class, students are required to explain some important keywords and ask relevant questions, and in the end of the term, to write a paper on a selected topic.

平常点（50%）と学期末レポート(50%）を総合的に加味して評価する。
Evaluation is performed comprehensively based on attendance(50%) and term-paper(50%).
デンジン＆リンカン『質的研究ハンドブック』、エマーソンら『方法としてのフィールドノート』（1995）、シュワント『質的研究用語事典』（2007）、細谷『現代と日本農村社会学』（1998）など複数を教室にて指示する。また、教材的読み物としてオリジナル資料を作成する。
Books and papers will be introduced in class, such as Handbook of Qualitative Research by Denzin and Loncoln, Writing Ethnographic Fieldnotes by Emerson et.al.(1995), Dictionary of Qualitative Inquiry by Schwandt(2007), Japanese Rural Sociology and he Modern World by Hosoya(1998),etc.,with original texts written by the lecturer.
各項目についての下読みおよび宿題が必須である。
Students are required reparatory readings and some home works.
