Course Title (授業題目)

Japanese language education for children

授業の目的と概要

日本で暮らす外国人の数は年々増加しており、それに伴い学校に在籍する外国人児童生徒等も増加している。この授業では、学校教員を目指す学生を対象に、日本語指導が必要な児童生徒等に関する基礎的な知識を学び、教師として行うべき支援について考える。

Course Objectives and Course Synopsis(授業の目的と概要)

In recent years, the number of foreign residents has increased significantly, and at the same time, the number of foreign children whose mother tongue is not Japanese is also increasing in Japanese schools. In this class, students will develop their understanding of foreign children who need Japanese language supports and gain fundamental knowledge of Japanese language teaching and learning support for them.

１．外国につながる児童生徒等の教育の現状や課題について理解を深める。
２．子どもの生活や学習上の困難点についての理解を深める。
３．子どもに対する日本語指導についての基礎的な知識を身につけて、子どもを支援できる。

After completion of this course, students are expected to:
-enhance their understanding of the current situation and issues of education for foreign children
- understand and describe the difficulties in life and learning of children
-gain fundamental knowledge of Japanese language teaching for children and be able to support them
