中世日本周縁地域史の研究

Course Title (授業題目)

Research on the History of the Peripheral Regions of Medieval Japan

授業の目的と概要

　授業担当者が行っている、中世日本国の東西周縁部の比較研究の一端について講義する。前半は、主として東北地方と南九州における歴史認識や正統観念について講ずる。後半は、主として東北地方の歴史資料について論ずる。授業を通して、日本中世の国家構造について理解を深めるとともに、歴史研究の具体的方法について理解する。

Course Objectives and Course Synopsis(授業の目的と概要)

This lecture will cover some aspects of the class instructor's comparative research on the eastern and western peripheries of medieval Japan. The first half of the lecture will focus mainly on historical perceptions and notions of legitimacy in the Tōhoku region and Southern Kyushu. The second half will focus mainly on historical materials of the Tōhoku region. Through the course, students will deepen their understanding of the structure of the Japanese medieval state and the specific methods of historical research.
