「マンガ」とは何か
What Is "Manga"
マンガについて、その定義、歴史、ナラティブについて学ぶ。マンガは日本において大変ポピュラーな文化である。それだけに我々は「マンガとは何か」について、分かっているような気になってしまいがちである。しかし、この講義では新旧の様々な具体例を取り上げながら、「マンガとは何か」という問いが実はきわめて難しいものであることを示していく。受講者には議論への積極的な参加を求める。
Learn about the definition, history, and narrative of manga. Manga is a very popular culture in Japan. Because of this, we tend to think that we know something about "manga". However, it is actually very difficult to answer the question, "What is manga?". To illustrate this point, we take a variety of concrete examples, both old and new. Participants are encouraged to actively participate in discussions.

履修者全体の上位 10%程度を「AA」とし、次に優秀な 20%程度を「A」とする。出席状況や課題レポート、発表を総合的に評価する。
Grade AA is given to the top 10% of students and Grade A is given to the next best 20%.Submitted reports, presentations, attendance and so on are evaluated.
教科書は特に指定しない。参考書は適宜指示する。
到達目標や授業内容に応じた準備学習が求められる。学外での調査も含まれる。
