Reading of Chinese Philosophical Classics, Elementary 2

授業の目的と概要

道家の代表的書物の一つである『荘子』から、老荘折衷の傾向が見られるとされる外篇・知北遊篇を取り上げ、輪読していく。読解作業を通して思想系の文献に特徴的な思惟方式や表現形式に慣れるとともに、中国古典文全般に対する基礎的読解力を培う。

Course Objectives and Course Synopsis(授業の目的と概要)

From the Zhuangzi, one of the most representative books of the Taoists, the students in this class will take up as texts and read in rotation the "Knowledge Rambling in the North" section of Outer chapters, which are said to show a tendency to blend the ideas of Laozi and Zhuangzi. Through the reading work, they will be able to become familiar with the modes of thought and expression characteristic of thought-related literature, as well as develop basic reading comprehension skills for Chinese classical literature in general.

思想系の文献に特徴的な思惟方式や表現形式に慣れるとともに、中国古典文全般に対する基礎的読解力を向上させることができる。

The students will be able to become familiar with the modes of thought and forms of expression characteristic of thought-related literature, as well as develop basic reading comprehension skills for Chinese classical literature in general.
