Reading the "classics" of Japanese studies
本授業では、日本学の〈古典〉とされる様々な文献を講読し、日本学の歴史的な系譜を確認する。現在において日本学を考究することの可能性と困難さを考える。毎回発表者を立ててテキストを精読し、議論を行う。参加者には事前にテキストを熟読することが求められる。
In this course, we will read various documents considered to be 'classics' of Japanese studies and identify the historical genealogy of Japanese studies. The possibilities and difficulties of examining Japanese studies in the present day will be considered. Each time, a presenter will be appointed to read and discuss the texts. Participants are expected to read the texts in advance.
日本学の基礎的文献についての基本的な知識を獲得するとともに、口頭報告と議論の技能を身につける。
To acquire a basic knowledge of the basic literature of Japanese studies and to develop skills in oral reporting and discussion.

履修者全体の上位 10%程度を「AA」とし、次に優秀な 20%程度を「A」とする。出席状況や課題レポートを総合的に評価する。
教科書は使用しない。参考書は大久保喬樹『日本文化論の系譜 『武士道』から『「甘え」の構造』まで』(中公新書、2014)
毎回、事前のテキスト精読が必須となる。また授業後は当日の議論を踏まえて、復習的にまとめ直すことが望ましい。
