Business Level Reading and Listening
The objective of this class is to acquire reading and listening skills that can help students succeed in various business environments. A strong emphasis will be placed on reading and writing for the TOEIC test. There will be a strong focus on new vocabulary acquisition, increased reading fluency, and improved listening comprehension. Through regular reading and listening exercises students will improve their business English.
1. Develop vocabulary and reading skills that enable students to read TOEIC text fluently and accurately.
2. Build ability to understand spoken and written English in English without translation into Japanese.
3. Gain insight into reading comprehension strategies.
4. Develop ability to understand main idea of author or speaker.
This class will utilize TOEIC practice tests as the primary material to help improve students reading and listening skills. Increasing reading speed requires improving vocabulary skills. Students are encouraged to ask questions at all times. A strong emphasis will be placed on in-class interaction between students and the instructor.
