Global Seminar (Japanese)
本科目は東北大学グローバル人材育成プログラム（以下、TGLプログラム）に参加する学生のための必須科目である。学生が自ら情報収集、ディスカッション、プレゼンテーション等を行う学習者主体の参加型授業を通して、TGLプログラムのコア能力のうちのコミュニケーション力、国際教養力、行動力の向上を目指す。最終的には、グローバル社会で活躍できる人材となるために、国際社会にある様々な課題を自分事としてとらえ、自ら情報収集し、課題解決に向けた目標や計画を設定し、形（アウトプット）として示していくための意識改革・動機付けをすることを目的としている。授業は基本的に日本語でおこない、授業内容により英語を補助的に使うことがある。
This course is an essential subject for the Global Leader Certificate of the Tohoku University Global Leadership (TGL) Program. The course, through active learning, aims at enhancing the student’s knowledge of intercultural communication and understanding, and skills in planning and presentation. Eventually, this course is intended to boost the student’s global leadership, including global perspectives, goal-oriented mindset and self-management/planning skills, in order to achieve their targeted goals. This course will be conducted in Japanese basically, with English used as a supplement depending on the content of the classes.
１．ディスカッションやプレゼンテーションなどによる経験学習を通して、傾聴力と表現力を磨き、多様な他者と対話する力（コミュニケーション力）を養う。
２．世界の事象や課題に対して多角的に知識を獲得し、それをもとに自分なりの見解を構築する（国際教養力）。
３．グローバル社会で必要とされるリーダーシップを考えながら主体的に学び、将来の目標を具体化しそのために大学生の間になすべきことを計画し実行する力（行動力）を身につける。
Students should be able to:
1) Expand capacity for dialogue by developing active listening and expressiveness through experiential learning, including discussion and presentation.
2) Acquire knowledge from various angles to understand phenomena and issues in the actual world and to develop their own ideas on them.
3) Develop skills in planning, self-management and action-taking through a deep consideration for leadership in the globalized society.

次の項目に関する学習成果と授業時間内外の学習への参加度合いに基づき評価する。

各回授業に時間通りに来られるように各自が責任をもち臨むこと。やむを得ない理由により授業を欠席する場合は、すみやかに（できる限り授業の前に）授業担当教員に連絡する。20分以上の遅刻が2回あれば1回の欠席とみなします。課題等の提出物は指定されたルールと提出期限を守ること。守られない場合は成績評価の対象とならない場合があります。
成績基準は以下の通りです。
AA: 特に優秀 (90-100点)
A: 優秀 (80-89点)
B: 良好 (70-79点)
C: 可 (60-69点)
D: 不可または履修放棄 (59点以下)
Evaluation is based on learning outcomes related to the following items and the degree of participation in learning in and out of class time.
1. Degree of participation: 30%
2. Group project: 30%
3. Report: 20%
4. Presentation: 20%
Students are responsible for ensuring that their schedule allows them to come to class on time. If a student wishes to be excused from a class due to unavoidable reasons, it is the responsibility of the student to inform the instructor of the absence as soon as possible (preferably before the expected absence). Two late arrivals (20 minutes or more) will be equal one absence. Students must abide by the rules and deadlines set for assignments. If students do not abide by the set rules and deadlines, the assignments may not be evaluated.
Grades for the course will be assigned as follows:
AA: Excellent (90-100 points)
A: Good (80-89 points)
B: Fair (70-79 points)
C: Passing (60-69 points)
D: Fail (59 points and below)

・この科目は対面授業を主とし、場合によりリアルタイム型オンライン授業（ビデオ通信サービスzoomまたはGoogle Meet）を取り入れることがあります。各回授業の実施形態は、基本的にその回の前週までに担当教員が連絡します。対面授業は随時、東北大学の行動指針（BCP）により変更がありえます。
・本授業はWeb履修登録ができません。選考を経て履修者が確定した後、教務課にて履修登録します。
・この授業科目はTGLプログラムのグローバルリーダーになるための必修科目です。

This course uses Google Classroom as a learning management system.
The number of students for this course is set at 30. If the application exceeds the capacity, the selection will be conducted at the first class. If a selection is to be made, the method will be indicated in the first class and the results of the selection will be announced in Classroom.
This course is mainly held face-to-face and may, on occasion, incorporate real-time online classes (video communication service zoom or Google Meet). The instructor will inform you of the mode of delivery of each class session by, generally, the week before the session. Face-to-face sessions are subject to change, depending on Tohoku University's COVID-19 preventive measures (BCP).
Registration will be done by the academic office.
This course is mandatory for the global leadership certificate of the TGL Program.
