学問論：知的好奇心と社会をつなぐ
Introduction to Academic Learning
学問論は，全学部の1年生にとって必修の授業科目である．「学問とは何か」を一方的に論じる授業ではなく，それを自ら見出す授業である。すなわち，学問の「知的好奇心を起点にして学んで問う」という要素に焦点を当て，自身の知的好奇心に気づき，それを学術や社会に位置づけ，大学で学問をする見通しを立てる授業である．学問論を通じて，高校から大学への円滑な接続と移行，すなわち「学びの転換」をすすめ，東北大学での学びや生活の展望（大学で，何を，どう，何のために，学び問いたいのか)を早期に具体化することは大学で学ぶ第一歩でもある．
授業の目的は，学生の所属学部を問わない学士課程における学問の基本的な素養を身につけることである．基本的な素養として，1．知的好奇心を主体的に追求し，社会とつなげる意識の涵養，2．東北大学における学修や研究の進め方の具体化，3．協同的に学修や研究を進めるための技術の習得，を掲げる．
Introduction to Academic Learning (IAL) is a compulsory course for first-year students of all faculties. Rather than a lecture that unilaterally discusses 'what is AL,' this course encourages students to discover the answer for themselves. Specifically, this course focuses on the aspect of AL that ‘begins with intellectual curiosity leading to studying and questioning,' allowing students to recognize their own intellectual curiosities, place them in the context of academia and society, and plan their academic journey at the university. Through this course, students are encouraged to smoothly transit from high school to university, and to concretize early on the outlook of their studies and life at Tohoku University.
The goal of the course is for students to acquire the basic academic qualities required in the undergraduate programs, regardless of their faculty. These basic qualities include: 1. Independently pursuing intellectual curiosity and cultivating a consciousness to connect it with society, 2. Concretizing the prospects of study and research at Tohoku University, and 3. Acquiring the skills necessary to collaboratively advance study and research.

第1回から第3回までは，全学生共通日程で進行し，様々な学問的刺激を受けることで，学生が自らの知的好奇心に気づく期間となる．それに対し，第4回以降はAB日程に分かれて進行し，学問と大学，倫理，社会との関係を学び議論することで，未来社会を視野に入れ，知的好奇心を追求する展望を言語化する期間となる．

第3回 「春セミ（Spring Seminar）：先輩学生や社会人が「センセイ」となり，学生生活や学業・研究，課外活動の具体的な様子と，そこからの学びを共有
＊第1回と第2回は，学生間交流のための時間を設定するため，2回分の授業時間(不足時間分はオンデマンド教材）を割り当てる。その代わり，授業回数は15回ではなく13回とする．

From the first to the third lesson, the course progresses on a common schedule for all students, serving as a period for them to receive various academic stimuli and become aware of their intellectual curiosity. From the fourth lesson onward, the course splits into Schedule A and Schedule B, focusing on studying and discussing the relationship between AL, university, ethics, and society. During this period, students articulate their perspective on pursuing intellectual curiosity with a view toward the future society.
■ Common Schedule: Realizing Intellectual Curiosity
Lesson 1: Guidance on the course schedule, rules, grading methods, etc.
Lesson 2: Special seminar by the Institute of Liberal Arts and Sciences.
Lesson 3: "Spring Seminar" where senior students and professionals become 'Sensei' and share their experiences in student life, academics, research, and extracurricular activities.
*Lessons 1 and 2 allocate double class time (with additional on-demand material) to facilitate student interaction. As a result, the total number of lessons is 13 instead of 15.

Lesson 12: AL at Tohoku University (On-Demand): Introducing Tohoku University's educational resources like ‘Tohoku University College of Creative Endeavor’, ‘study abroad programs’, and ‘Seniors' Voices’.
Lesson 13: Your AL (Exercise): Integrating the entire course to envision AL at Tohoku University.

この授業は単位の実質化を念頭に，90時間の学修を必要とする内容をもって設計されている．
学生が所期の目標を達成するためには，授業やOD教材の視聴とは別に，毎週4時間程度の学修が期待される．
