応用化学、化学、生体分子工学分野に関連する学術雑誌に掲載された新規な成果に関する論文（ニュース、解説等）を学生が選択し、授業で紹介します。 各学生は、新しい研究の背後にある基本概念を明確にするために、元の論文の図や表、および追加資料を使用して情報を要約します。 学生全員が発表者にコメントや質問をします。 ディスカッションは教師が司会を務めます。

Students will select papers (news, commentaries, etc.) concerned with novel results published in scientific journals related to the fields of Applied Chemistry, Chemical and Biomolecular Engineering and they will introduce them to the class. Each student will summarize the information using the figures and tables in the original paper as well as additional material so as to clarify the basic concepts behind the new research. All the students will offer comments and questions to the presenter. The discussion will be moderated by the teacher.
先端材料と化学/生化学プロセスに関する新しい結果を伴う研究論文に関する毎週の議論。
Research papers concerned with new results about advanced materials and chemical/biochemical processes will be selected for the weekly discussions.
このコースの主な目的は、学生が化学関連のトピックについて英語で話し合う能力を養うことです。
The main purpose of this course is to develop the students' ability to discuss chemistry-related topics in English.
このコースの単位を取得するには、応用化学・化学工学・生体分子工学の分野の学術討論に参加し、研究論文を選択する必要があります。
To receive credits from this course it is necessary to participate in the scientific discussions and select a paper in the fields of applied chemistry/chemical engineering/biomolecular engineering.
The material (papers) used in the scientific discussions will be uploaded to Google Classroom. Depending on the circumstances, the course might be held online using Google Meet and/or in the classroom.
