1. Object
Electromagnetics is a basic and required subject for a person learning the electrical engineering, communication engineering, electronic engineering, and information engineering. Classes are divided into “Fundamentals of Electromagnetic Theory”, “Electromagnetic Theory I”, and “Electromagnetic Theory II”. The electromagnetics can be learned in a unified way by taking these three classes. “Fundamentals of Electromagnetic Theory” is the most fundamental subject of the three. Students can learn the fundamentals of electromagnetic systematized by Maxwell’s equations in this class.
2. Summary
Students can review the vector analysis which is indispensable for learning the electromagnetics and learn the static electric field and the static magnetic field in vacuum. The Maxell’s equations of the static electric field and the static magnetic field are also derived in this class.
3. Goal
This class is targeting to learn the following abilities:
・To understand the concept of the field such as vector field and scalar field
・To understand the method for obtaining the static electric field and the static magnetic field physically and mathematically
・To understand the process of deriving the integral and differential forms of Maxwell’s equation from Gauss’s law and Ampere’s circuital law.
Knowledge of the vector analysis and the partial differentiation learned in the class of “Seminar on Mathematics and Physics” is required in this class. Since students need to solve exercise questions by themselves to understand the electromagnetics, students should take this class and the class of “Fundamental seminar of electromagnetics” in parallel and learn by themselves using reference books, if necessary.
