This class provides explanations of the fundamentals of heat and mass transport phenomena. The aim of this class is to acquire fundamental knowledge of heat and mass transfer, which is useful to several engineering designs. Students firstly study the basic concept of heat transfer including conduction, convection and radiation. Then the applications of the concept to industrial designs, such as heat exchanger, boiler and condenser will be introduced. The goal of this class is to acquire the concept of heat and mass transfer.

The session time is limited and therefore self-directed learning is important. Students are required to prepare and review for 1 hour in each lecture.

Evaluation is performed comprehensively based on class attendance, examination and mid-term examination. A student absent from class due to an unavoidable reason (sickness, mourning, etc.) must provide the lecturer with a document that supports the reason (medical certificate, etc.), which may be taken into account in grading.
Office hours are from 10:00 to 17:00 on Fridays. Please make an appointment in advance. The contact information for the lecturer will be given in class.
