１．目的
工学領域で必要とする英語力を養成する一環として、実践的に活用できる英語のコミニケーション力表現力を身につけることを目的とした。
２．概要
小人数のクラスを編成し、プレゼンテーションの基礎を講義しながら、受講生が、Nature, Science等の記事と各自の研究分野の論文、各自の研究テーマに関して10分程度のプレゼンテーションを２回仕上げて、発表、質疑応答を行う。その発表について教員がアドバオスを与える。なお、講義が全て英語で行う。
３．達成目標等
英語でプレゼンテーションの準備、発表と質疑応答が講義とトレーニングを通じて、初心者レベルからきるようになる。

1. Objective
This lecture aims at training students' ability of English communication as a scientist and engineer. The focus is the presentation skill, while various relevant aspects such as scientific papers searching, reading, abstracting, contents organizing and discussion will be also practiced.
2. Abstract
Lectures are processed in small classes. After being given lectures on basic knowledge of English presentation, each student will have chance to give two 10-minute presentations on selected topics by themselves based on papers in the world leading scientific journals or in their own research fields. Practice of the whole process of preparation, presentation, questioning and answering will be carried out, teacher's advice is followed. All lectures are given in English.
3. Goal of this class
The goal of this lecture is to guide students used to the scientific English, and to train students to do presentation, as well as carry the questions and answers in English from beginners level.
英語の総合力が問われるので，日頃からの努力が必要となる．
１年生からの英語に関する授業の受講はもちろんのこと，ラジオ(VOA, Special English)、テレビ英会話，英字新聞の閲読等を勧める．
Since this class requires various kinds of English skills, students need always make effort for leaning English. In addition to English classes from first semester, we also recommend additional effort for studying English communications by listening in English radio (such as VOA) and watching TV programs, and by reading English newspapers.
１． ガイダンス
２－４． プレゼンテーションの基礎の講義
５－１５．クラスの発表日時スケジュール（一人で2回の発表）を設定する。そして，各自の研究分野の論文、各自の研究テーマに関して10分程度の発表を準備し、発表する。その後全員で質疑応答を行う。また、教員ががコメントやアドバイスを与える。

5-15 Making schedule of two rounds of presentations for each students
Each student prepare presentations on the paper selected in scientific journal and on their own research topics, giving presentations at classes, then having questions and answers session. Teacher will advice after the presentation.

出席、プレゼンテーションおよび質疑応答、レポート（2つ発表のppt、と講義の感想）に基づいて評価する．
The grade will be assigned according to attendance, performance in presentations and final report (2 presentation ppt files and impression on this lectures).
