(at Lecture room #214 in the building M2: the class code is tw6muiy)
1. Class subject
This class covers the concepts and analytical methods of basic mechanisms to achieve desired mechanical motions.
2. Object and summary of class
Learning the principle of simple mechanisms is important for a better understanding of the complicated motions of mechanical systems. Aiming to achieve better mechanical designs, this class will focus on the basic concepts of the mechanisms. Students will also learn several mechanisms such as links, cams, gears, and so on.
3. Goal
At the end of this class, students are expected to understand the basic concept of the planning and designing of mechanical systems.
The contents of this class would be related to the following classes, such as “Design and drawing ІІ” and “Machine design engineering”.
The first session of the class is scheduled to start at 14:40, 12th (Fri) Apr. 2024.

15. Summary
Preparation: Students should read a related part of the textbook before the lecture.
Review: You should read reference books and the textbook, and run over the assignment the lecturer or TA returned.
Students are required not only to submit class assignments but also to review each class using handouts. If there remain any parts they cannot understand, they should ask questions in the next class.
Submission of drawings for each practice assignment is required for credit. Grades will be evaluated in consideration of attendance, drawing quality, and the final examination.
