The rock record of deformation and transport of heat with examples from convergent margins
中・下部地殻を構成する岩石が記録する熱履歴及び地殻変形の記述と基本的な解析法について紹介し、収束プレート境界行きにおける過去のプレート運動と熱史との関係について紹介する。
Learn about the rock record of the thermal history and deformation of the mid to deep crust, how it can be documented and analysed including examples of how these features relate to ancient plate movements and thermal history of convergent plate margins.
中・下部地殻を構成する岩石の組織の特徴やそれらの成因と記述法の基礎について理解できること
Understand the development of textural characteristics of metamorphic rocks that make up most of the mid and lower crust and how to dcoument them.

3. マグマ貫入と地殻の熱構造
4. 斑状変晶の特徴と解釈
5. 新城トーナル岩体周辺の接触変成作用の例

講義は7月22−24日を予定
Lectures will be conducted using blackboards and PowerPoints according to the following contents.
1. Rock deformation mechanisms (brittle and ductile)
2. Types of foliations and lineations, their documentation and interpretation
3. Magma intrusion and thermal structure of the crust
4. Porphyroblasts: characteristics and interpretation
5. Example of contact metamorphism around the Shinshiro tonalite
6. Sense of shear markers in shear zones
7. Strain measurement
8. Plate movements and kinematics of deformation in metamorphic belts
Lectures will be held on July 22-24th.
出席、授業のレポートを中心に評価する。
Evaluation will be mainly made by class attendance and class report.
