北上巡検
Field Survey Practice
北上山地に分布する古生界および中生界の岩相，堆積相，変形構造を観察するとともに，層序を把握する．さらに，日本列島の地体構造における北上山地の位置と地史を理解する．
The purpose of this course is to observe lithology, sedimentary facies and deformation of Paleozoic rocks of Kitakami massif. Students also learn about geologic development and history of the massif.
1. 変質・変形した堆積岩，砕屑岩，火成岩の岩相，堆積相，変形構造を観察し，同定することができるようになること．
2. 北上山地の古生界および中生界の地史を理解すること．
3. 観察結果をレポートとしてまとめる能力を養成すること．
Students will
1) observe Paleozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary, volcaniclastic, and igneous rocks in Kitakami massif, and
2) understand geologic history of this province.
3) develop the ability to summarize observation results in a report.
巡検前
受講生を約4つのグループに分ける．各グループは指定された日の巡検案内書を作成する．
その後，巡検案内書をもちより，事前勉強会を行う．
巡検
候補地は以下を予定する．なお，露頭の状況等により，変更の可能性がある．
1. 日頃市地域（氷上花崗岩，シルル系〜石炭系）
2. 世田米地域（石炭系〜ペルム系）
3. 宮古〜小本地域（ジュラ系〜白亜系）
4. 久慈地域（白亜系）
巡検後
巡検の内容をレポートする．
We will visit the following four areas to observe observe Paleozoic and Mesozoic sedimentary, volcaniclastic, and igneous rocks.
1. Hirokoichi area (Hikami Granite, Silurian-Carboniferous succession),
2. Setamai area (Carboniferous-Permian succession),
3. Sanriku ria coast along Sanriku Ria Coast (Mesozoic accretionary deposits), and
4. Kuji area (Cretaceous–Paleogene post-accretionary deposits)
Before the field work, students will be divided into about 4 groups. Each group will prepare a field work guide for the assigned day. Afterwards, they will have a presentation and a pre-field work study.
巡検案内書および勉強会でのプレゼンテーションの内容（50%），巡検後のレポート（50％）で評価する．
Excursion guidebook: 30%
Presentation at the preparatory meeting: 20%
Report: 50%
各グループに対して，論文のリストを与える．
Reference papers are provided.
事前勉強会の資料を読み込んでから，巡検に参加すること．
Before field survey, reading thoroughly excursion guide and papers should be needed.
巡検実施約1〜2ヶ月前に日程・勉強会に関するガイダンスを実施する．
