Introduction to Multivariate Analysis

授業の目的と概要/Object and Summary of Class

教育学や心理学等を含む社会科学分野の研究において，多変量解析の知識とスキルは必要不可欠である。
主要な多変量解析の手法について，理論的基礎を学ぶとともに，統計解析環境Rによる実践方法を修得する。

Knowledge and skills of multivariate analysis are essential in social science research.
This course aims to learn the theoretical foundations of major multivariate analysis methods, and to acquire practical skills for data analysis using R.

学習の到達目標/Goal of study

1. 主要な多変量解析の手法について，理論を理解し，結果の解釈を正確に行えるようになる。
2. Rによる分析方法を修得し，目的に応じて多変量解析の手法を実データに適用できるようになる。

The goal of this course is to
1. understand the theory of major multivariate analysis methods and to be able to correctly interpret the results of the analysis;
2. acquire the skills to analyze data using R and to be able to apply multivariate analysis methods to their data as appropriate.
