遺伝カウンセリングの基礎を学ぶ。歴史、概念、面接技術、家族歴の聴取と記載、遺伝医学的評価、患者への教育、リスク・コミュニケーション、倫理的側面、遺伝カウンセリングの研究等について、遺伝カウンセリングの発祥の地である北米の教科書（A Guide to Genetic Counseling）を用いながら、概要を俯瞰する。さらに我が国の状況について理解をする。[Learn the basics of genetic counseling. Textbooks from North America, the birthplace of genetic counseling, covering history, concepts, interview techniques, family history taking and writing, medical genetic evaluation, patient education, risk communication, ethical aspects, genetic counseling research, etc. (A Guide to Genetic Counseling) will give you an overview. Furthermore, we will understand the situation in our country.]
遺伝カウンセリングを理解し、遺伝カウンセリングの実践への準備ができる。[Understand genetic counseling and prepare for genetic counseling practice.]
各テーマに沿って，A Guide to Genetic Counselingの各章の指定された部分を指示するので、事前に訳を行い、それをもとに輪読しながら重要なポイントについてミニ講義にて理解を深める。
