医療倫理学の基礎的な知識を得るためのコースである。医療倫理学の主要なテーマについて、自分なりの見解をもち議論に参画できるよう、基礎的な概念や理論、歴史的背景、議論の概要などを理解することを目的とする。
This is a course to learn basic knowledge about medical ethics.
The objective of this course is to understand the basic concepts and theories, their historical background, and the summaries of some major topics in order to participate in discussions with one’s own thought about the major topics of medical ethics.
人の出生から死にいたるまでの医療・公衆衛生の主要な倫理的テーマ（例えば、患者と医療者の関係をめぐる自己決定とパターナリズムに関する議論や選択的人工妊娠中絶などで問題となる優生思想、感染症など公衆衛生の分野で問題となる個人と社会の関係、人を対象とする研究で問われる研究と治療の区別の問題など）について、歴史的な背景をはじめ、これまでに重ねられてきた議論の流れおよび使用されている概念、視点の違いによる意見の相違など、多角的な視点からテーマについて理解することを目指し、それら意見の相違に配慮しながら自分なりの考えをもち議論に参画できるよう、一定の見識を得ることを目標とする。
The aims of this course covering the main ethical topics, from birth to death, of the medicine and the public health (for instance, the issues of self-determination and paternalism in the patient-medical profession relationship, the selective abortion and eugenics, and the ethical problems about the public health such as infectious disease measures and the clinical research involving human subjects) are:
・to understand those main topics from several points of view including the main concepts and theories, their historical background and various others’ opinions about the topics
・to have an insight into the major topics about medical ethics
・to be able to participate in discussions with one’s own thought

4.生殖補助医療技術にかかわる倫理 Ethics of assisted reproductive technology (ART)
5.安楽死・自殺幇助にかかわる倫理Ethics of euthanasia and assisted suicide (Voluntary assisted dying)
6.公衆衛生倫理 Ethics of public health
7.人を対象とした医学系研究の倫理 Ethics of medical research involving human subjects 1
8.人を対象とした医学系研究の倫理 Ethics of medical research involving human subjects 2
9.遺伝子組換え実験の倫理 Ethics of genetic engineering
10.動物実験の倫理 Ethics of animal experiments
11.微生物取扱にかかわる倫理 Ethics in treating microorganisms
レポートに基づいて評価する。
・全11回を受講して、各講義に関して200字程度の「ISTU受講レポート」を提出すること。
・レポートは大学院教務が設定した締め切り日（例年一月ごろ）までに教務に提出してください。正確な締め切り日は教務に問い合わせをしてください。
The evaluation will be based on the reports.
・Students must take all ISTU lectures and submit ISTU lecture reports of 200 words for each lecture using the format provided by ISTU.
・All reports must be submitted to Daigakuin kyomu-kakari（Graduate Academic Affairs Section of the University） by the deadline set by the kyomu-kakari (Graduate Academic Affairs Section)(usually around January). Please conferm the kyomu-kakari (Graduate Academic Affairs Section) for the exact deadline.
