Course Title (授業題目)

Vedicl Literature

授業の目的と概要

本講義では，『リグヴェーダR̥gveda』 IV 18 「Indra讃歌」を取り上げ、読解演習を行う。講読を通じて，文献学の具体的方法習得に努める。Aufrechtが校訂したテキストを用い，Grassmann: Wörterbuch zum Rig-Veda, Mayrhofer: Etymologisches Wörterbuch des Altindoarischen, Gotō: Old Indo－Aryan Morphology, MacDonell: Vedic Grammar for Student，Delbrück: Altindische Syntax等を参照しながら，文献学の具体的な訓練を行う。

Course Objectives and Course Synopsis(授業の目的と概要)

In this course, students will read R̥gveda IV 18 mainly based on the text edited by Aufrecht. The aim of this course is to help students acquire the necessary skills and knowledge in Indian philological study with Grassmann: Wörterbuch zum Rig-Veda, MAYRHOFER: Etymologisches Wörterbuch des Altindoarischen, GOTŌ: Old Indo－Aryan Morphology, MACDONELL: Vedic Grammar for Student, DELBRÜCK: Altindische Syntax, etc.

学習の到達目標

　リグヴェーダ原典の講読を通じて、文献学の具体的方法習得に努める。インドの宗教、文化、言語の源流を確認するための基礎研究入門を目指す。

Learning Goals(学習の到達目標)

By the end of this course, students will be able to
1. acquire fundamental skills of philological study through with reading of the R̥gveda.
2. achieve essential knowledge to understand the origin of religion, culture, and language in India.

授業時間外学習

授業は，最初はゆっくり進めるが，後半ではできるだけ多く読み進めることを目標にする。受講者は単語を調べ，語形を確定し，訳すように努力すること。十分な予習が難しい場合は，授業内容をしっかりノートに書き込み復習すること。
Students are required to prepare for the assigned part of the designated textbook for each class. They are also required to make a thorough review.

その他

履修にはサンスクリット語初級の知識を必要とする.
Knowledge of essential Sanskrit Grammar is prerequisite.
